maybe i'm missing something, but it seems that calling HEAD on a zope url does not invoke acquisition. e.g.: if i have the following objects: /foo content header /foo/bar content then get HTTP 200 for the following calls: GET /foo/bar/content GET /foo/content GET /foo/header HEAD /foo/content HEAD /foo/header But I get HTTP 404 if i call HEAD /foo/bar/header This seems wrong since the document appears to be there under one method and appears to not be there in the other. Is this acceptable in terms of the HTTP RFC? I haven't checked. I can't think of any reason for this although perhaps ZC did. Best, Mark mlogan(a)ccs.neu.edu

Thanks, I was able to figure out what it was. I'm seeing it in Z2.log on the badly behaving node; looks like a failed ZSQL Method due to a closed database connection or non-functional DA can cause Zope to return an HTTP 500; an accidental change to MySQL permissions caused the connection to die... I did everything in trying to investigate what was going on except the obvious, which was check the connectivity of the database that I use in my automated procedure... I know better next time... self()....what is it?

CMF install failure on _checkCBlock

I'm getting "broken" on attempts to install CMF 1.0 from the .zip version onto an NT4 system (a previous mailer reported the same problem on Mandrake Linux). It seems to occur in CMFCore in FSPythonScript when assigning an attribute value to _checkCBlock. Traceback below. Any ideas ? How to Install Zope on Window NT

I am a new user of Zope. I successfully installed the Zope on my win98 machine two months agao. But today I want to install Zope on my NT machine. I download the 'Zope-2.4.x-to-2.4.2-win32-x86.tgz' file and unzip it. I extract all the file to 'web/' directory, the content looks much different from the one I download before, and I cannot find the 'install.txt' from the 'doc/' directory. I follow the old one(install.txt) I download before, but I don't know how to run the installer in my 'web/' . Could any one help me? Many thanks.... Another WebDAV problem for the mix--MS Network Places

It seems like having WebDAV difficulties is in fashion this week. I have my Zope installation using port 8080 for WebDAV, and it serves up raw content as expected (tested by pointing IE directly at a document on the server through port 8080). Trying to set up a Network Folder through Explorer on Windows 2000 using 'http://161.120.180.129:8080' gets me the following message: The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another. I've tried adding a trailing /, pointing at a sub-folder, and a myriad of other possibilities.
