Dear All, I'm building an intranet site for my company based on Zope and am looking for some mailing list software like Majordomo or Mailman. I basically want a mechanism where people subscribe to lists and are mailed messages when people mail the list. I also want the ability to archive all the messages, search through them, etc. I've looked at Squish Dot and it has most of what I need except you don't subscribe and it does not mail everyone on receipt. Has anyone integrated Zope and Mailman or Zope and Majordomo? If there is sample code or documentation, then please let me know. Right now I need all the help I can get. Adobe has a script on their SVG site that detects if a client has the viewer installed and if not takes it to the download site. Perhaps, you can start with that and based on the existence of viewer you can force (in javascript) loading of the svg image or the png/jpeg rendering of it. Obviously, if you want on-the-fly generation of png/jpeg version then you need either something that can do the conversion from svg or you need to generate png/jpeg rendering yourself. Developing application in Zope: From ZClass to Python based Product

Hi all, I've been using Zope in a couple of projects now for a couple of months. I started developing a product as a ZClass - creating it in Zope Management Interface. It is a product similar to STX_Document, but has more fetures and uses a Java-based editor as an editor. Now my question is: can my change my product from ZClass to a python based product, and how can I do it? There are now many instances of this ZClass, and possibly in the future it would be easier if the product is written totally in Python. If there is no other way I could write a script, that goes through the whole structure of the service and copy the information from the Zclass instance and creates a new instance of this python based product and inserts the information into it. But any ideas? -huima

Redirect after login...

Here's what I've been trying to figure out: When of my site's users authenticates, I'd like to immediately redirect them to their own home page in the system... In other words, upon becoming a member of the system, each user will have their own instance of a "member" class and upon authenticating, I want to forward them to the "View" view of their class. Now, I know that CMF does this (sort of) but I haven't found enough documentation on CMF so I'm trying to do this with regular old zclasses, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

garbage characters on zope.org homepage?

I've been getting garbage characters for some of the text on the zope.org homepage under certain circumstances: Mac IE5, with stylesheets enabled. Looking at the zope.org stylesheet (using http://www.zope.org/zope_css?pp=1) I see the <P> font is "Omni". I suspect this is my problem.... I don't have the Omni font in my system... other browsers seem to substitute, but IE5 actually shows an Omni in the font list (I have no idea where it's finding it) which shows up as a bunch of blocks on the screen, and other stuff. Is this Omni font really necessary? Is anyone else having these problems, or could this be a local configuration issue?

can I change directory of a product?

Hi, I created a couple of products. Now I think things are scattered to much, so I would like to pack several of them into one directory. My question: Does an instance of a product know anything of the directory structure that was in effect when it was created. If yes, can I tell it to adapt itself to the new structure? Get name of current method

When my "standard_html_header" method is called, I would like it to detect whether it's called on the site homepage or not. Specifically, there is a graphical element that I would like to have displayed *only* when the home page is displayed (eg. http://www.mysite.com or http://www.mysite.com/index_html) But if a method is called on the root folder (eg. http://www.mysite.com/login_form) I do *not* want the graphic to display. Similarly, I do not want it to display for any subfolders, etc. So far, I have this: <dtml-if "URLPATH1=='' "> display graphic </dtml-if> This makes sure the graphic is not displayed when you're in a subfolder. However, it still shows the graphic for methods called on the root of the site. So I thought of doing something like this: <dtml-if "URLPATH1=='' "> <dtml-if methodname="" or methodname="index_html" > display graphic </dtml-if> </dtmlif> How do I tell what the current method name is in my "standard_html_header"? I'm sure this is insanely obvious, but i'm stumped nevertheless. Regards, Dave

Zope binary and Mysqldb

Hello all, Having installed a binary version of Zope I'm having some difficulty installing MySQLdb (so I can use . The python on the system can import MySQL but python installed with Zope cannot import the module. What do I need to do to install MySQLdb module so that the python that was installed with Zope can see it? If there isn't a straightforward way of doing it I may have to install Zope from the source distribution. Many thanks, Sion Morris

sql blender anyone?

Hi all, Has anybody out here every tried using the SQL blender product? (http://www.zope.org/Members/adustman/Products/SQLBlender) I have installed SQL Blender for Zope (latest stable Windows release on Windows 2000 Pro SP2), and can generate a default SQL blender for all my tables.... However, if I try to auto-build default folders and methods for all SQL blenders, I get this error: Unexpected tag, for tag <dtml-comma>, on line 2 of <string> I get this with my ZMySQL db connector on a remote server, and also with my test GadFly DB connector on my local machine. Any ideas anybody what could be causing this? Many thanks!
