Hi Trevor; I find the easiest way to do this is to use relative URLs on your Zope server, using <img src="images/header.gif"> instead of the absolute path. (This way you can reference it from almost anywhere in your site and let acquisition do the work for you). Hi Lynn, I have cc'ed the group as I'm sure there are other thoughts on this out there. First Question: Once you have your ZSQL methods working, create a Z Search Interface to see how to create forms and result methods automagically. Their just plain DTML methods. Using the form and results DTML methods that the Z Search Interface generates, look at how it is setup to create your own DTML method containing three forms, each pointing to a different ZSQL method. Second Question: I imagine you could do something like putting the ZSQL method name in your database, and using them to refine your search? So your main form would call a ZSQL method that returns you data, and the names of four other ZSQL methods, perhaps sql_1, sql_2, sql_3, sql_4. Use these fields to make a <a href> link on the results of the first ZSQL, so you can click result 4, for example, and it executes sql_4. Third Question: Are your labels stored in the database? If so, just call those columns as the name. If not, you may be able to do something like <dtml-if expr="result_1 == '1'>USE</dtml-if>. Howto convert ZSQL results

How to convert to integer the the result of a ZSLQ method ?? I call a ZSQL method with: l=int(container.last_customer()) The field I query is has the type "VARCHAR(10) with Null" I am doing this query through ZODBC DA, to an Access .mdb file. ZoperServer hang up ...

ImportError

Hi, thanks to Tino, I was able to finally post some data from a form to a python script. But I kept getting errors of the form can't use __init__, __name__, because it starts with _ I removed those, and now I keep getting the following : Error Type: ImportError Error Value: import of "makedirs" from "os" is unauthorized, etc ......... now these I can't remove otherwise the program will not work Phill

Hi there, Looked through many archived mailing lists, and I don't see specifally what I want - or I didn't look in the right place. In any case, if this is an old question, please forgive me. Couple of things: 1) Working with SQL tables through Zope - Have created queries, and they work fine. However, I would like to create one area (DTML method), where I can have 3 different submit buttons, querying 3 different queries - I am sure this is possible, I just am not too sure how, as this is still new to me. Want to have the user be able to pick what ever he/she wants to query from one location. 2) If I run query A, I get results, but when I try to edit the results page, I can't. I need to edit the query results page, how do I do this? 3) In the SQL table, I have values 1-4 from a option box in an Access from. WebDAV and Zope...

I am running Zope 2.4.2 on Windows 2K pro and can't Windows to connect to Zope using WebDAV. Nor am I able to get Dreamweaver to connect to to Zope using WebDAV... I am prompted for my username and password, but always get one of the following errors: The folder you entered does not appear to be valid or Unable to authenticate the webdav server or an error occured - cannot get remote folder information Any insight on this would be appreciated... -Bill

I gave also some hint how to do it... Several options: * make a ZClass inheriting from "Image", give it a property sheet with your additional meta data make a constructor form that lets your user specify all data (especially the image) make a constructor action that creates an instance of your ZClass, adds the meta data and the image (with "manage_upload") The Zope Book should tell you more about ZClasses. * make your own add (and edit) form and action. The add form lets the user specify all meta data and the image. The action creates a new image (with manage_addImage), adds the required properties (with "manage_addProperty") and then gives them the required values (with "manage_editProperties"). * make a Python based product inheriting OFS.Image. Give it additional properties. Make add form and action similar to previous option (but you do not need to add the properties as they are already there). The second approach is the easiest, but also the one that is the most difficult to maintain (in case you should want to add an additional property, for example). The other approaches are similar. ZClasses support you via a Web based interface. This is missing for Python based products (you need to read the Developper Guide...). Python based products are more efficient, but some people think there are easier to maintain (I do not belong to this group). Next time: To the list! Plain Text! Dieter

External methods returning multiple variables?

Hello, I would like to have a DTML Method call an External Method that would set a bunch of variables that could be used further in the DTML using a simple <dtml-var myvariable> where myvariable was set by the External Method. The trick is the name and number of variables isn't fixed. So far I've managed to get all my name value pairs into a dictionary that I return with "return dictionary", but I'm not sure how to properly call this external method in order to make sure the dictionary gets returned ... can I even do that? And once I get this dictionary accross, how do I use it in DTML ? Am I on the right track here?
