Bug importing products ??

The attached product can be imported from Zope 2.4.2 Linux, but not Zope 2.4.2 on Windows. (Import it in the folder /Control_Panner/Products) Well, this product is a bit strange, because it uses classes of itself, so in Linux zope must be rebooted in order that this product works well. But I am not sure this error I am having in Windows is related with this. I also have this same error importing the file .tar.gz generated by the "distribution" menu. Versions and missing products

Hi, My success rate using versions has been about 50% so far this year. I reckon it's down to the way I work, which tends to be a bit scatty and all over the place. This means that I start a version for a specific task, join the version, then somewhere along the lines start fiddling with something else I've just remembered, without first remembering to leave the version. In then end, most of my site gets infected with this version, which makes some things break in odd ways... One disturbing effect I ran into last week was, I think, down to me having edited a couple of through-the-web products whilst in a version I shouldn't have been in. I then ran into problems trying to commit the changes I'd made and at the end of it all, the two products I'd edited vanished from the "add products" list in the rest of the site. Has anyone any ideas what I can do to get them back and get my site back into some semblance of consitency? I've checked the control_panel/versions panel and there are no outstanding commits... copy object in python script

How do I copy and/or move an object from a python script? I search in the Help! files for "manage_cutObjects" but do not see anything. Nothing on zope.org or the archives either. On a (somewhat) related note: Where do the help files live? searching a date

Hi, i need to find a date stored in a ZCataolg. the problem is that the date has a time in it ( '2000/01/01 12:00:00 GMT+1' ) that i dont know. i tried to turn the index type of the date to textindex, but that didn't work because only letters are stored in it ( 'GMT' ). if this would work i could just search for the date because it gets seperated by blanks when it is put into the catalog ( '2000/01/01', '12:00:00', 'GMT+1' ). can't access zope

What have I stupidly done? I'm running debian and as unix root have run 'zpasswd.py inituser' and 'zpasswd.py access' but neither name will allow me to login to zope. I get an 'Unauthorized' message from zope. Automatic cataloging

Hi I've tried to get an automatic ZCatalog working, following the instructions in the ZopeBook, but without success. Here's what I did: 1. Made a new Product called Task 2. Made a new ZClass called Task inside the Task product. 3. Added a property sheet called TaskProperties to the Task ZClass 4. Added properties: priority (selection), status (selection), deadline (date), owner (selection) 5. Added a new ZCatalog in /Tasks 6. Replaced the default indexes with: deadline (Field), owner (Text), status (Text), priority (Text). 7. Replaced the default meta data with: owner, priority, status, absolute_url 8. Added a couple of instances of Task in the folder /Tasks/RMP/Films But there's nothing in the Catalog. Where am I going wrong? SVG and smart images

Hi, Has anyone got any pointers, or good ideas as to how to achieve the following? I'd like to be able to use SVG based images on my site, where possible, for a number of reasons -- one being that I'd like to be able to print out documentation and diagrams without jaggies. But I'd like my site to be viewable from different browsers and platforms without necessarily having to have SVG plugins installed everywhere. My thoughts are to create a smart image product, which wraps an SVG image document and delivers it unharmed only if the browser specifically says it can accept image/svg (or whatever the mimetype is). In all other cases, I'd like to be able to have PNG/JPEG content returned, either automagically generated and cached on the fly, or more likely in the first instance have a manually uploaded rendition returned. Does anyone know if this would be easy, whether it's already been done, or know of a simpler solution using client-side Java applets? Alex.

Zope BOF at Comdex in Vegas?

As the only (AFAICT) Zope user in Las Vegas, I'd like to propose that Zopistas that are here for Comdex (Nov 10th through 16th) get together for a Birds Of a Feather gathering. This could be a dinner or just meeting for drinks, depending on what people would like. How many people would be interested? Does anyone have a preferred time-frame? Here's hoping to meet some of you, Michael Bernstein.
