Hi I want to run a folder (or even multiple folders) in zope (e.g. /website) as a new port so instead of using http://localhost:8080/website -> http://localhost:8081 Is it possible? And if it is possible, how do I do it? Tnx Maarten Demont

Squishdot moderation question

We've been playing around with Squishdot for a short while, and we never see anything appear in the 'moderation' area. We can review all messages under the 'Postings' tab, but that's what we thought 'moderation' was supposed to be about!? The Squishdot site we've set up is configured so that articles and comments are both moderated, but 'moderation' is always empty. What is the difference between 'Postings' and 'Moderation'?

constructors and destructors

Hello, I'm a zope newbie so please excuse me if this is obvious: If I make a ZClass, then an instance of it can be made by using the 'add' pull down menu of the management interface. This in turn calls an 'add_myobject' method in which I may do anything, including creating an entry in a database. OK. Now if I wish to use the zope management interface to delete my object ie: one of the 'cut' or 'delete' buttons, how do I call a 'destructor' method to get rid of my database entry associated with that object? Or am I missing the point completely and should be doing this another way?? Thanks for any responses. Hi there, Thanks for the reply. The product I am developing is a "plug in" product that anyone can use in their web-sites (the product is served by my Zope, and the product must communicate with my Zope). This means that whatever setup needs to be done on IIS will have to be done on every client's IIS that wants to use my plug-in (it's not even to say that they ARE going to use IIS). When you say Zope's virual hosting, do you mean using SiteRoot and SiteAccess? This seems to me like a fairly unsurmountable problem! Sorry for the crossposting to zope-cmf(a)zope.org and zope(a)zope.org, but I didn't want to miss anyone. I had been getting various reports of incompatibilities between Zope 2.4.x versions and the CMFOptions product, in particular, the Blark weblog. For various reasons, I wasn't able to check up on any of this until today; and I can't find anything wrong; although my development environment is different- Zope 2.4.3 on Win2K; previously I only developed on Linux boxes. Anyway, if there is anyone having problems with this product with the current release of Zope (2.4.3) (problems of the 'non-working' or 'error' variety, please no feature requests), please contact me at the email address below. verifying a file upload

Greetings, I have a form which has a file upload field. If the user uploads an image, I want to create an image object. How can I check to see if the user uploaded a gif or jpg? Thanks, Steve

WebDav w/ Zope 2.3.3 and Dreamweaver 4.01

hi, I'm trying to use WebDAV on Zope 2.3.3 and Dreamweaver 4.01. Here is the problem, if a user tries to push a file onto the site it fails if the file does not already exist. If the file exists already, there is no problem, the file is updated. Is this a Zope problem or a DreamWeaver problem, or perhaps me? CMF, like it? hate it? why? other options?

Is CMF worth investing the wicked steep learning curve. I really am banging my head against the wall with it. Mainly in terms of how to make it look like and feel like a normal website and not one that members need to know what folder an article is published in.
