For MS Windows users: this message includes an icon to be used instead of the stupid MSDOS-batch icon accompanying the start.bat file. I cut the 'Powered by Zope' image and gave it a transparent background. Still pretty ugly, so this is actually some sort of challenge for the person who enjoys producing nifty icons. boolean search

Dear all, Even though it seems so basic, I could't find a single reference to this problem. I'm trying to list some objects of a given meta_type based on some booleans they *might* have. For example: <dtml-in "Catalog.searchResults({'meta_type':'whatever','published':'1'})"> While a missing boolean property (¿always?) means "off", there's often arbitrary values when in "on" state, mainly depending on how the input was set in the form. So the question is: how should the query be set to bring only those items that DO have a certain property? TIA, Pablo

Var Length

Zope on Mac OS X -- startup exception

I just installed Zope 2.4.3 (python 2.1) on Macintosh OS X Server (10.1.1). The install went okay, but I can't start up the server. The error log shows this error: ------ 2001-12-03T15:38:11 PANIC(300) z2 Startup exception Traceback (innermost last): File z2s.py, line 861, in ? IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Applications/Zope/var/Z2.pid' ------ 2001-12-03T15:38:11 PROBLEM(100) zdaemon zdaemon: Mon Dec 3 10:38:11 2001: The kid, 25215, died on me. Another Zope user gave me this piece of advice: "The problem looks like you installed the package as a different user to the one you're trying to run it as." I installed as cafrica and logged in to my machine as cafrica, but the passwords are different. Could that be the problem? sendmail in standard_error_message

Hi All, When I add a dtml-sendmail block to my standard_error_message, I no longer get the custom error page at all, but the built-in one (headed up "Site Error." I read in the archives that this can be due to the standard_error_message object itself raising an error, but I have put the code in another object and it works fine there. Any idea what I've done wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The code in question is included below. Hi, I'm pleased to announce that large bits of Net4Any's meeting with Paul Everitt on November 23 in Paris are now available in MP3 format. For the Eurozopers here who have already received a similar message some days ago, I must say that the two first parts that were missing are now available along with the rest. These two parts are Paul's introduction. Net4Any organized this event, and many european Zope developpers came there to discuss with Paul about the future of Zope and their own products. Degrading performance with redirects?

Hi, We're experiencing a problem with a Zope based site that serves most of its content via redirects, the new location based on results from a PostgreSQL database. The weird thing is that the Zope site becomes very slow after a week or two, which is fixed by restarting Zope. It doesn't seem to be a memory problem (512MB free out of 768MB total) or a load problem (server is 99% idle most of the time). Zope has about 5 Gigabytes of storage available, running on Red Hat Linux 7.1. The homepage is served by a redirect: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type', 'text/html')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('nl/another.page')"> The rest of the site is basic DTML, building tables based on results from the database with a few if's here and there. Could it be that the '.' in the redirect causes problems? Or the setHeader? Any ideas? Thanks!
