Dictionaries in DTML

I'm perplexed by dictionary handling in DTML. >From a Python Script, I'm returning a dictionary. The Zope Book and other DTML documentation refers to a mapping attribute in <dtml-in>, but provides no examples, and I'm afraid I can't get anything to work, with or without that attribute. I've even stripped out access to the values, and still nothing works. I've created a simple Python script ("return_dict"): --- return { "foo" : "bar", "input" : "output" } --- And a simple DTML script: --- <dtml-in expr="return_dict()" mapping> foo </dtml-in> --- With or without the mapping attribute, that gives me a KeyError: 0, with the problem occuring in DT_In.py, in renderwob(). What am I doing wrong, and moreover, once I'm doing it right, how do I access the values? -- -- John R. Hi all !! I'm trying to use the dtml-tree tag for displaying my folder site structure ! The problem is that i want to display only a part of my site structure, so i have tried something like this: <dtml-with "PARENTS[0].SITE.DIR1.DIR2"> -> Path from where i want to show the structure <dtml-var browse> -> the DTML-method that does the display of the tree </dtml-with> the funny thing is that, if i do a view in zope of the DTML-method browse directly it works, but it fails when i call the method from other place. Has anyone had a similar problem ? thanks for all effort, and best regards Nuno

How to run Zope?

Hello! we are trying to figure out the best way to run Zope behind apache. Background: We have a machine that will run Zope. Zserver is running all the time. We want to use Apache to serve Zope and other static/php/perl things as well. We also need to use SSL with Zope and apache seem a better choice thatn using SSL-enabled Zserver (more proven, more stable). So, question: What is the recommende way to server Zope behind Apache, with URL-rewriting, possible multiple site-hosting, etc. Is it as a CGI? If so which one? Is it using Apache acting as a proxy to Zope? Is it using any of the available Apache-Zope modules? or something else? we are confused; we have read the howtos available, but we are not able to understand the proper way. Obviously there are different requirements for differents scenarios, but it is hard to understand which senario applies to what situation. Also, we do not fully understand the consequences of the varioius methods available. Hello, i am having some issues with a Zope 2.3.0 setup: my situation is this: I have an Apache frontend speaking to Zserver via fastcgi. i want to implement an Apache virtual host for a clients domain a la the second example in Anser's HOW-TO "Using Apache with ZServer". Can I do this with mod_fastcgi or do i have to get rid of it first? cheers for any help! javascript space separated text

Hello, I am currently trying to pass a parameter to a dtml document from a source dtml document which contains a javascript method which in turn does the parameter passing. The parameter I am trying to pass is a string entered by the user. Everything is fine when the parameter is one single word but when the user enters a space inside the string, everything changes. I get in the recipient dtml document only the first word, no matter what I try. I tried using a simple form, submitted without javascript and it works all well: I get all the space separated string.
