creating files from external methods

hi, Can you create a file from within an external method? Good Day, I have recently installed Zope-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm and Zope-pcgi-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm on RedHat 7 with Apache 1.3.12 and have a problem with reaching my server and get an "Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Resource not found Sorry, the requested Zope resource does not exist. Check the URL and try again. Troubleshooting Suggestions The URL may be incorrect. The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. For more detailed information about the error, please refer to the HTML source for this page. If the error persists please contact the site maintainer. Thank you for your patience." I'm trying to find what is causing this but there is no entry in my log file.....Please help? Thank You, Glenn Emery

The only problem I see are cyclical references, especially with Acquision. Could you imagine what would happen if Acquision was turned on with these things? You can check if the parent (usually a folder object, unless we are in a DTML Document, not a DTML method) has the special document object attribute. (tested) <dtml-if expr="_.hasattr(PARENTS[0], 'special_document_name')"> We have special_document <dtml-else> No joy. </dtml-if> This doesn't render the document or check to see if any of it's contents will raise a KeyError. [Announce] Squishdot 1.0.0 Released

Squishdot 1.0.0 is now available from http://www.zope.org/Members/chrisw/Squishdot/ The following major changes were made: - HTML postings are parsed to remove harmful tags. Unclosed tags are closed. - Made Squishdot work with TinyTable or TinyTablePlus. Also made Tinytables work in 2.3.0. - Reimplemented email notifications. No HTML mail is now sent. HTML in postings is converted to text before being mailed out. - Fixed KeyError problem with Re-Catalog All Postings button. - Fixed a design problem with threading. - Added Updaters to handle fixing old Squish Site instances. There many other small changes and improvements. For details, see: http://squishdot.org/Documentation/Changes This will be the last release of Squishdot to include new features. >From now on, bugs will be fixed but development work will switch to Swishdot.
