Help needed. Can't get how to handle virtual hosting :-( I do the next: 1) Create in the root folder of the Zope Python script (dtml methods won't work either) with the name 'dns_handler'.(It contains only return "I'm ruling !!!!!!!") 2) Set Access Rule with id 'dns_handler' 3) Make a request to root folder (e.g. 'http://localhost:8080/') and... finally I get my index_html dtml-page located also in the root folder. Deleting index_html doesn't help :-) (just preventing such Gotchas) Would anybody tell me what to do. I would also appreciate somebody explaining me what are all those SiteRoots & Virtual hosts monsters all about ??? How to apply them at all ? I'm facing great lack of documentation on the topic. help. Help ! HELP !!!!!!! Thanx in advance for my salvation. Anton.

2 Zopes, MS-SQL

Hi all- I need to get data from a MS SQL Server 7.0 database on NT 4 into web pages hosted on Redhat Linux 6.0/Apache/Zope. I understand that the way to do this is to put Zope on the NT box, and then use a Zope-to-Zope connection to get NT-based ZSQL Method data over to the Linux Zope's DTML Docs. I have working ZSQL methods in the Zope on the Windows box now. Everything works except that mystical Zope-to-Zope connection. Can anyone tell me how I can get the two zopes talking to each other? Which LDAP product?

I've been looking for a Zope product that makes Zope LDAP enabled. However I really dont know which one to choose? Or, should I have to write my own LDAP adaptor? If anyone has experience on using Zope with LDAP, please kindly give me some suggestions. Thanks :) BTW, has anyone ever tried running Zope on AIX? Any experience to share? Thanks :) -- Nick

Hi, I am a little new to Zope technology, and I looked for <searches> in it but all I found was serch in databases. I need to make a search in the site, looking for matches in it. I was wondering if there is no procedure or object that can do it. I need the same think as the Find of zope does. Can we have the code of it? Number of threads

Hi all, z2.py has an option, -t. According to its internal documentaion, this controls the number of threads used if ZODB3 is used. Please could somebody explain this to me in a little more depth? Are the threads only used for interaction with ZODB? What are the pros/cons of running multiple threads? dtml-with string

Hi all ! i am having a problem with dtml-with tag the problem is: i want to do a <dtml-with "PARENTS[0].location.place"> the problem is that instead of writing PARENTS[0].location.place i want to use a variable that is a built string: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('location', 'PARENTS[0].location.' + dir)"> dir is a dtml-var which has the string place ! and then use something like: <dtml-with "_[location]"> does someone knows how to do this ?? I have tried tips in zope.org but unsucessfuly here's the zope error: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: PARENTS[0].location.place thank you all Nuno

Hi! I would like zope to draw a png or jpg image displaying some lines, rectangles or circles, according to some data that I retrieve from a database. The display should NOT be "statistical", as provided with gdchart. It should allow me to place graphical elements wherever I want. Is there any way to create such images "on the fly" with zope? thanks, andreas
