The LDAPUserManager is a LDAP user record administration tool to be used in conjunction with the LDAPLoginAdapter. It allows the site manager to search, create, edit and delete user records that are stored on an LDAP server, thereby completing the Zope user management functionality already offered by the LDAPLoginAdapter. You can view some of the documentation and download the software at http://www.dataflake.org/software/ldapusermanager/. The LDAPLoginAdapter, now at 1.0beta3, can be found at http://www.dataflake.org/software/ldaploginadapter/. A Tracker at that same address allows you to easily file bug reports or feature requests for this product. jens

Core Session Tracking questions

Hello again folks! I just downloaded and tried out Core Session Tracking. Let me just say that I am impressed. This is so much nicer than manually setting cookies... Or trying to, and failing. :-) First question: Say my cookies are set to last 14 days, but my session data manager only stores session data for 60 minutes... What happens? Say a visitor comes, sets some preferences, leaves and comes back two days later. A new session oject is created. Are the old cookies "imported" in the new object or is the data lost? Second question (not really as important for me): Is a Core Session Trackink-enabled site not more vulnerable to DOS attacks? Are there plans to eventually add sometghing to protect against OOM situations due to DOS attacks, like limiting the maximum amount of RAM used by core session tracking? PS: BTW, thanks again for Core Session Tracking. So far, it looks really cool: powerful and dead simple to use. Where to Begin

Greetings- I would like to learn Zope, but am having trouble getting over the initial learning curve. I have heard that Zope offers a great way to create a web-based application and is python friendly. I have programmed for about 20 years now, was able to learn the mechanics of C++ (though I have yet to have anyone convince me it was worth the effort), have been using Python for a couple of years, and have run through the Zope tutorial. I feel I'm ready, but -- like the dazed freshman on the first day of classes -- don't know the 'next step'. Should I shell out the $$ for the new "Programming Python" book? Do I go out and look at Zope Websites and look at the source code? Any help and/or pointers would be appreciated.
