I think you don't need ZClasses for that. <dtml-in objectValues sort=myprop> <dtml-var title_or_id><br> </dtml-in> This will do what you want. Just play a little with it. I tested it only quickly. myprop is just a property for each doc. Newbie Q: creating a Z class from a web form

I'm trying to set up a fault database using Zope, but having no experience with it learning is proving tricky! Here's my problem. I've set up a ZClass called faultItem, and the constructors required to add a faultItem to a directory using the management interface. This works fine - I get a form to fill in and all the values get set up in the new instance. Now I'm trying to do a user end web-form method, so users can do the same, but I can't work out how to get my properties from my web form into the new instance. I've read tutorials and how-tos but I still can't work it out! Telnet to Port 8080

calling product methods

Hello, whenevver I try to call a method wich should be acquired from the product I get a traceback. I have a Yihaw folder. In the Yihaw Product there is a method YihawNewsItem_add. But when I try to call <dtml-with news> <dtml-var "YihawNewsItem_add(REQUEST=REQUEST,RESPONSE=RESPONSE)"> </dtml-with> or <dtml-var "news.YihawNewsItem_add(REQUEST=REQUEST,RESPONSE=RESPONSE)"> I get a traceback telling me that YihawNewsItem_add is not known. What is wrong in my picture of how products work? Internal Server Error with Login Manager

Hi, I had earlier posted a query on using Login Manager with GUS(Generic User Source). I tried using Login Manager with SkinScript and I get the same problem. I get an internal server error while trying to access the LoginManager folder through 'lynx' browser. A dtml-raise in the Login Manager login form,renders a traceback at the bottom of the page,but the problem persists even if I start Zope without the debug flag,to avoid the traceback.If I dont get the traceback,I again get the internal server error. I made use of the HOWTOS,in the zope.org on using Login Manager with GUS,and SkinScript. I still get an Internal Servor Error,when I access the page using Lynx. In Netscape,nothing seems to happen when I try to login using the LoginManager Login Form. It doesnt seem to be referring to the SQL database to authenticate the user. Bye, A.R.Karthick (A.R.K)

No cut, copy, paste, rename with my ZClass instances

Hi there, as I wrote in the heading, I cannot do the above actions with my instances of ZClass. At first, I've got a ZClass NewsContainer, which subclasses ZClasses: ObjectManager. In that NewsContainer I have got a second ZClass NewsItem which subclasses DTML document. I tried to rebuild such a structure with the same inheritances as dummyContainer and dummy, and cut... worked perfectly. Can I set somewhere an option explicitly which I set by accident for my NewsContainer? Note: I create my News Items automatically by evaluating a form... Also the id is taken automatically by a kind of time stamp which results in a nine digit number. Neither can I cut... my News Container nor any of the News Items - so I suspect that somewhere in the News Container ZClass is the problem. I get the following artless error message: The object tickerNews does not support this operation. The same for a NewsItem: The object 984124146 does not support this operation. Any ideas, suggestions, advices etc.? Thanks. BTW: Nobody answered to my posting yesterday: ( http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-March/084989.html ) It was the thing if really only managers can add, edit, delete (i. e. manage) users. This morning I read in a response of Dieter Maurer that he assumed it to be a bug. Is there any fix yet - or will there be one in the nearer future? Hello all, Since there seems to be some confusion about the Zope education and training services offered by beehive --- I'd like give some answers and resolve any confusion. Update URL in SQL

I have a database which has information about books, and there should be link to the publishers website. When I use SQL -insert all goes fine, but when I want to update records which have URL inserted I get an error. It works if I use html-quote, but then (of course) the link is useless. Can anyone help?
