Alan, I am having a similar lock-out problem while performing a complex query on SQL Server 2K. All other hits cannot connect until the query returns the results. My research has so far taken me here: http://www.zope.org/Members/petrilli/DARoadmap Which is telling me I am probably using at most a Level-2 DA with my ZODBC. And then here: http://www.zope.org/Members/djay/ZmxODBC/ZmxODBC_0_0_2.tgz/README Which is a Level-3 mxZODBC DA (multithreaded). If anyone sees a problem with what I am about to do, let me know. (at least in this case) Until Zope does the commit, other users are locked out. For read only queries, there is no need to have the request under transaction control. In any case, Zope should be able to early release the SQL connection and then process on the results. Certainly increasing processor speed will mask this problem and provide better response to users, but I'm hoping for a real fix. Zope training in NW-Europe?

We want to train a couple of our web-developers on Zope, so that they can structure websites the "Zope-way", help in setting up content management structures for customers, etcetera. As we're a bit short on training resources ourselves, does someone give Zope training in or near The Netherlands? If not near .NL, would someone be willing to share (against a fee, of course) training materials? Adding Property to newly added Image w/o Image ID

HI All, I am new to Zope (just installed it a week ago) and am absolutely loving it!! I have found the mailing list archive very valuable, but I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer to yet. I have a form that is used to upload a picture, picture title, and picture description. My DTML method that gets called from this form uses the picture file and picture title to add an image (into a subfolder) like this: <dtml-call expr="_[prop_id].manage_addImage(id='', file=file, title=image_title)"> Then I want to add the description as a property (named image_desc) to the image... but I don't know the id of the image that I just added, so I don't know how call: manage_addProperty('image_desc', image_desc, 'text') How do I access the newly added image in this case? Hi all ! Has anyone accomplish to create a string in dtml which has a " (quote) something like <dtml-let my_str="aaabbb " aaabbb"> </dtml-let> I have tried the normal escape character \ but it didn't worked !!! : ( <dtml-let my_str="aaabbb \" aaabbb"> </dtml-let> I think that the use of " in a string is a problem in redering dtml !!! am i wrong !!! please tell me that i am !! regards Nuno

hi there ! i'm trying to create a dtml-document which i accomplished ! Still i want generate something like: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set( 'page', ' ' + '<dtml-let object="PARENTS[0].DIR1.DIR2.' + obj + ' " ' )> to my document. The problem are the character (") i have tried to use \" (escape character) but it didn't work : ( does anyone knows how to use (") in a string ?? thank you all and best regards, Nuno

Hi, Can someone help me with this construction? I have two dates that I want to find the difference in minutes or hours (preferably minutes) zdate 2001/03/07 17:08:00 GMT+1 start_date 2001/03/07 16:41:14 GMT+1 What I try: <dtml-var expr="_.DateTime(zdate-start_date).PreciseTime()"> which returns: 01:00:00.023 What is wrong here?
