Well, Rahsheen, what did you do to bring zope to this state? Is zope running behind Apache or a different proxy? Do you still have an acl_users folder in the Zope root? What are the current permissions settings for the root folder? Please give us more to work with than, "everything is all broke." Thanks. Log-In to View?

Why is it that whenever I try to View anything I'm prompted to login? The permissions clearly allow anonymous access (even for the Root). I would really appreciate some help on this permissions problem. Zope is extremely useless right now since I can't View anything or access anything Anonymously. All I can do is create/delete/modify things. Session Tracking w/ login management?

Is core session tracking going to be integrated into the access system in future zope versions? My real question is: will we be able to redirect users to a login screen when they try to access unauthorized pages, or their login has expired? And, will it be able to redirect people to their originally requested page after they verify access? All, I'm trying to determine which application is favored as the "Session application" to use with Zope. From what I have seen of CoreSessionTracking, this would be what I'd be interested in; but as of last Friday, I saw that it had some bugs with its timeout property. Is there a product that Zope endorses? Or one that the community endorses? Separating assignments in Z SQL Updates

I'm trying to write a ZSQL method that will do a general update to a record. I started out attempting to do what I thought was the 'normal' thing: update Table set name1='value1', name2='value2', name3='value3' [...] where id='idvalue'; I wanted to use dtml to automatically build a statement that would only assign values if new values existed. The problem with this is the commas: you have to have commas between the assignments, but you can have a comma after the last assignment. And I couldn't figure out how to conditionally insert the commas. After fooling around and hunting for awhile, the best I could come up with is a separate 'update' statement inside an 'if', for each field. So it looks like this: <dtml-if due_date> update Invoices set due_date = <dtml-sqlvar due_date type="string"> where <dtml-sqltest invoice_id op=eq type=string><dtml-var sql_delimiter> </dtml-if> <dtml-if purchase_order_id> update Invoices set purchase_order_id = <dtml-sqlvar purchase_order_id type="string"> where <dtml-sqltest invoice_id op=eq type=string><dtml-var sql_delimiter> </dtml-if> <dtml-if ship_name> update Invoices set ship_name = <dtml-sqlvar ship_name type="string"> where <dtml-sqltest invoice_id op=eq type=string><dtml-var sql_delimiter> </dtml-if> This works, but it seems awfully awkward to me. I found that I can pass the filename of the Excel file I want in the connection string with the DBQ parameter. How could I pass this parameter in the Z ODBC connection string? Have I to modify the Zope source code? Thak you for your reply, I don't think this is the only problem; I am afraid that Zope on my machine is very instable; it starts an new process each time I try to change and test a sql-method (at least from a Opera-client; from Netscape changing an testing of the same method results in killing the server). Hardly a robust platform. Permissions Problems

I've been messing with Zope for about a day and a half and have already managed to break something (I think). I am unable to delete any previously created folders with any of my manager accounts or the main admin account. I also cannot View *anything*, but can still manage users in all my folders as well as edit files in those folders. I have one folder that I can't even access at all no matter who I log in as. I can't even view the Quickstart or the main root page. I have deleted all the acl_user folders from all my sub-folders. I have made sure the Security settings in root and all of my folders make sense (Manager can do everything, Anon can view not change, Owner can do nothing). Yet I can't do anything useful. It seems like my entire site is private, but the settings for root don't coincide with this.
