ObjectManager implemented on a list

Hi, I need a special ObjectManager, which doesn't ask an ID when adding new objects, and will keep the objects in sequence. I figure this is what a list will do, so I'm gonna cook up a new breed of ObjectManager (please tell me if there's already one of that ;), but I need some advice/pointers on how to make the objects in the list traversable? Update a database from a FORM gives missing input variable

I am close to getting a form to update a database, but I seem to have misunderstood how ZSQLMethod gets variables: The Form: <form action="update_table"> <input type="hidden" name="PeopleID" value="9999"> <input type="text" name="Surname" value=""> <INPUT type="submit" value="save" name="submit"> </form> The action method: <dtml-call sql_update_tblPeople> Finally the ZSQLMethod (no arguments set): UPDATE tblPeople SET tblPeople.Surname = <dtml-sqlvar Surname type="string"> WHERE tblPeople.PeopleID = <dtml-sqlvar PeopleID type="int"> >From all the documentation and How-tos I have read so far, this should work, but I get: missing input variable Surname Changing the update_table method to: <dtml-var Surname> shows that the form delivers the right value. Can anyone help me to spot my silly error? TIA Neil

Traverse REQUEST.form Querystring values

How do I traverse the Querystring values in the REQUEST object? I dont know how many or what name they are so I want to call then in a traverse. There are simple ways to do this in Perl and ASP. Something like <dtml-in "REQUEST.form"> <dtml-var sequence-id> : <dtml-var sequence-value> </dtml-in> Well, I hope you know what I mean. Thanks, Tom

defining object types

Does Zope support strict data/object typing? If so, what's the syntax to instantiate an object of a given type? The only reference I could find that's close is , but what if you don't have data to place in the object yet and still want it to be a certain type? Is this still being actively maintained? It doesn't look like it's been updated in a while, and I get an error when I try to import the 0.5pre version. If that product is dead, are there any alternatives that are still being worked on? -- Tim Moore

Virtual Host Monster, mod_rewrite not quite working

Hey everyone, I'm trying to use a Virtual Host Monster along with Apache's mod_rewrite to publish some static content along with mostly Zope content. I've followed the How-To at http://www.zope.org/Members/mwr/VHosts_With_Zope_Default but I can't get it to work quite right. Here's the relevant section from httpd.conf: <VirtualHost 206.131.108.110> ServerName mendota.isd197.org DocumentRoot /var/www/district <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "/var/log/apache/rewrite_log" RewriteLogLevel 1 RewriteRule ^/webalizer/ - [L] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.mendota.isd197.org/mendota/V… [P] </IfModule> </VirtualHost> As you can see, I've got some Webalizer statistics I'd like to include along with the rest of the Zope stuff. The problem is that visiting http://www.isd197.org/mendota/ works perfectly, but http://mendota.isd197.org/ doesn't. In the second case, the main graphic on the page isn't visible.
