Hi Ricardo, Can you be more specific? Pre 2.4 Zopes running Python 1.5 are going to use the 'DCO2-NT-Beta3.ZIP'. Zope 2.4 needs the '2.1 Linked NT Beta 3 build'. I can verify that the latter works with Zope 2.4 and Oracle 8.1.5 (at least on my machine ;->). Jim

File handling under Zope

Hello! I'd like to make files in the OS (Linux), under Zope. I try this, but it doesn't work. DTML method: <dtml-call expr="writeFile(this(), id='test')"> Python Script "writeFile": filename = '/tmp/' + id file = open(filename, 'w') file.write('foo, bar, text\n') file.close But I get an error: Error Type: NameError Error Value: open How should I try this? PIL not working in Zope

have spent some time now trying to get PIL to work in Zope. When I call it in python it works fine and I seem to be able to use all functions without trouble. But from Zope I get all sorts of errors. I am trying to resize an image to a thumbnail. I started by writing my own code and after no success I finally found the code on this page http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/ScriptingZope.html it looked almost identical to mine, but I tried it to be sure and I still get the same errors. What I have noticed is this: If I use the code exactly as is, I get the following error: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: expected string, ImplicitAcquirerWrapper found  If I change the 'cStringIO' over to 'StringIO' I get the following error: Error Type: IOError Error Value: image file is truncated, 7 bytes left in buffer  With more testing I have found that the error occures on the line: image=image.convert('RGB') I can open the image, I can also query its size and format, but the moment I try to manipulate the image these errors occur. Reactor on a folder

How do I attach a reactor to a folder. When someone adds a file to the database via FTP, I want to give them the option to email a group of users. I also need to log some activity when this happens. But how do i react to the event? -mjm

I think Guido is right in his idea that this should be integrated in 3.0+, so this SHOULD NOT be that big of a deal. That will keep it far off enough that it will not have a severe impact. I think fixing a design bug in the language and just getting it done with is a good thing... Integer division operator // will be integrated into 2.2 to allow for us to start writing good code premptively before 3.0... This has nothing to do with English; frankly, just let a loosely typed language realize just that in it's arithmetic philosophy... those python programmers formerly indoctrinated with Pascal's div and mod operations, for example, might just enjoy a common-sense change consistent with the notion that in 99% of everyday real world math, an integer is just an easy to write notation for a float... List of Error Tyrpes

Hey all, I'm looking for a list of error types. In particular, I'm trying to find an error type that pertains to an empty sequence list. My app runs great when searching for names within a list, but let's say a user tries to find all names that start with 'Z'. Currently, there aren't any names that fit that search criteria. So, I have everything wrapped in a dtml-try. But the error_type that is returned is TypeError. The error_value is loop over non-sequence My question - there probably are other errors that fall under the TypeError error_type. I just want an error_type that is specific to this one particular error. So finding a list of available error_types would help me greatly. Unless, of course, someone just gives me the answer - but that wouldn't be too helpful in the future. Give a man a fish, and it will feed him for a day...
