I thought that I might state it a bit simpler. I left a field blank and I would be redirected at line 4 to see the error message. Unfortunately I got something else. Instead of stopping at line 4 the above code redirects me at line 8 executing line 7 in the process. # When I redirect from a dtml method, is such a redirect functionally equivalent to a return statement in C that causes processing to stop??? #I interpret that behaviour to mean that the the above code executes until the loop is finished and then continues to execute. The result is that I am redirected twice, first to see the error message and finally to see the results. If this is the case, is there a tag to stop looping and "return". Thanks in advance Karl

ZSQL "OR" search help

Hello, How can I perform a "OR" search on a SQL database field using a web form ? E.g. : I have a SQL database table with fields "name", "surname" and the following records: Jimmy Carter Ronald Reagan George Bush Bill Clinton I would like to search the "name" field through a web form and write : George OR Jimmy And it should return : Jimmy Carter George Bush Thanks for your help. Hello everybody. I am an absolute zope newbie and I just got id downloaded and installed. Although there were some error messages during the install it seems to be working ok. My main purpose in installing zope was to try out some of the products that come with zope like the CMF. I downloaded the CMF package and tried to follow the instructions on the zope.com web site and immediately got stuck. It says. Link (or copy/move) the CMF packages into $INSTANCE_HOME/Products. For instance: $ cd /var/zope/Products $ ln -s /usr/local/zope/CMF-1.1/CMF* Well I don't see a products directory anywhere. I see an extensions directory so I untarred it there but it still does not show up anywhere. What do I do next? The current MFolder uses Zope's acquisition to make the mirrored content available in the corresponding folders. Acquisition uses "Containment before Context" to look up names. This ensures that (in your example) the German objects are found by a web request in the German area unless the targeted object is not there. Then the object in the mirrored folder is found. However, the "Containment" of an english object is the english folder (while the context contains the german folder, if accessed via this way). Therefore, if an english object references a name, it is preferable found in the english hierarchy and only if not found there, the german context is searched. I discovered this fact only recently, too: The "absolute" in "absolute_url" indicates, that the URL is independent of the access context, based solely on its physical location. If you need the breakcrumbs only in a kind of management interface (what I expect), you can use "URLPATH1" (maybe URLPATH0) as starting point, as in this case the object's URL is strongly related to the request URL. disabling things

Zope webmasters/sysadmins, We're not letting FTP traffic through to the server so we never use the FTP "feature" of Zope. Non of us use WebDav either. Supposing we disable these features, will it increase the Zope performance at all? (that being the only reason to disable them) Are there other things that can be disabled if you know you're not going to use them? best regards, Peter

Noticed that the shiny new ZopeCorp pages all have "Avoid Software Piracy" as a future link in the "legal stuff" at the bottom. Stealing open source software, are we? ;-) Has Zope Corp offered any proprietary extensions to Zope? It sounded like (from Paul's presentation @ the ZPUGdc meeting this week) that there _might_ be some _future_ plans for this, but nothing yet. How to SSL

I set up a site according to unfo's Howto at http://www.zope.org/Members/unfo/apache_zserver_ssl. I have one virtual server on port 80 doing http and another on port 443 doing ssl. The port 80 works with Rewrite rules in httpd.conf. The 443 port works with ProxyPass. In the Zope folder of the virtual server is a folder "ssl" with a SiteRoot pointing at https://www.website.com/. When I go to the website e.g. with http://www.website.com and down the tree, everything is ok. When I call https://www.website.com/something/manage I can now authenticate with SSL and everything is fine. But when I call https://www.website.com (the root of the website) it shows me the content of the /ssl Folder. Is this the way it should work?
