Will ZOPE solve my problem?

Hello all, I am new to this list and to ZOPE and before I dive into documentation and start banging my head against the wall I will ask for your advice first. Here is my problem: I am in charge of building an application for a real estate company. The purpose of the application will be to manage all the data (Properties,clients ...) of the company. They have 4 offices scattered across the country, all offices have a dedicated connection to the Internet with a fix IP. They also have a web site and it's necessary that the changes in the data reflect themselves on the web site (the data on the web site is a sub-set of the data in the offices, e.g: they don't have client information in the web site, but they have information about available houses to rent). So my question is: For what I've seen of ZOPE it would be trivial to make the application and install a copy in all four offices, but is it possible to synchronize the data between all four offices and the web site? Also, they are thinking of opening a small office with a dial-up connection (dynamic IP); would it also be possible to put this office in the equation? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction? Where should I look for information about this? Thanks, Luis Neves

Hello: Why when I do this does the acquire permission settings all get check when I all want what I list below. Cut and paste from python code

Hello, I am trying to cut and paste objects from python code. Both origin and destination container objects are inheriting from ObjectManager. I am using the following code to cut objects contained in self and copy them in the newChannel object: if len(self.objectIds()) != 0: cp = self.manage_cutObjects(self.objectIds()) newChannel.manage_pasteObjects(cp) An error is raised: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: call of non-function (type string)  The line 210 referenced in the trace in the CopySupport.py Zope 2.3.3 module is: app = self.getPhysicalRoot() Do you have any idea of why this error occurs? Attribute Error on Product Initialization

There is probabaly some nuance that I'm missing, but I don't see it. I have a product that I'm trying to get going, but I keep getting this nagging AttributeError on line 8 of my __init__.py file regarding them manage_addDoctrineAction. For the life of me, I don't see what the problem could be. Any hints anyone? What is the right way to add a ZDiscussion in Zope 2.4.0? When I add it, it tells me: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: Catalog addIndex now requires the index type to be resolved prior to adding; create the proper index in the caller. form Image Object

Hi, Is it possible to keep an image object over http requests? (without a core session tracker) eg I've a form which allows the user to upload an image. Before it is all the data and image is stored the user gets a preview of the data and image. When he then pushes the 'Ok' button, the image and data should be stored. The problem is that at that moment I don't have a fileobject anymore... how can I keep my fileobject? Thanks in advance, Tom
