Remote scripting?

Hello, Remote Scripting means: calling server-side code from a client-side script without causing the active page to be reloaded. (for more information see http://www.ashleyit.com/rs/) The website mentioned above contains an HTML page which contains two comboboxes. The choices offered in the second combobox are calculated on the server, depending on the choice that the user makes in the first combobox. The values of the second combobox are retrieved from the server by communicating with a java-servlet, and all this is done without reloading the active page. (using DHTML, ofcourse). How to get (and manipulate) rendered html of a dtml method prior to publishing?

Hi, How do I get a dtml-method to render its html prior to publishing the page? I have a dtml-method which normally is inserted into another page i.e. <dtml-var some_dtml> inside index_html. This inserts the dtml of some_dtml into index_html, then index_html is published, right? But I have a single occasion where I need to get the rendered html some_dtml would create, prior to index_html being published. I need to retrieve some of the html using _.string.split etc. How do I grab the html in such away that I can manipulate it?? I have tried variations of <dtml-var some_dtml html_quote> which gives me the html I need, but I cant workout how I can put this into a <dtml-let ...> or similar to manipulate. I have tried other ideas but they all return the dtml in some_dtml rather than its html, giving me errors. Your help on a simple solution (I am sure!!!) will be much appreciated. Thanks Richard

Excluding acl_users in export

hello, does anyone know if there's an easy way to exclude acl_users from an export? i want to give someone a section of our site, but don't want them to have the users folder located within the section. Help, installed cookicrumbler yesterday ,all functioned very well. Today I want to use my ZClass and this ERROR was the result: I have logged in as manager! Deriving ZClasses from Other Product's ZClasses

Can you derive a ZClass in one product from a base class in another (separate) product? Suppose, for example, that you have a "library" product, i.e., one that is used to hold the base classes for a variety of other generic objects, such as people, organizations, and documents. Other products could use the "library" classes to derive new -specific- classes, such as employees (from people), clients (from organization), and templates (from documents). This way, multiple products could share objects with a common base class. Which begs the next question... Can you search for multiple classes by searching for the base class. E.g., there is a (base) people class, from which other classes, such as "contact," "employee," and others are based. I know you can find all the employee classes, and all the contact classes, but can you ask for the "people" class and get all of the classes that are either a people class or derived therefrom (e.g., employee, contact, etc.)?
