Solution to MailHost / Attachment / Filename Question

I submitted a question several days ago about how to get the filename and type, ie: "FileName.rtf" to appear by the attachment icon on the recipient's email, rather than Attachment: 1 The tutorial said to use: filename_expr="resume_file.getId()", this kept producing an attribute error. So after several days of trying to figure this out, I found that: filename_expr="resume_file.filename" did the trick. (This is with the form value set to filename) Since I only got one response to my original question and that as to ask for clarification, and then no further suggestions, I thought perhaps this was something not many knew about and it might be helpful. I ran into exactly this problem. My firm usees a left-hand navigation bar, just as yours. Here is how I solved the problem. In the standard_html_header object, for the code defining the navigation bar, I include: <dtml-var navigateFolders> <dtml-ver navigateForums> <dtml-var navigateDocuments> <dtml-var navigateFolder_Specific> <dtml-var navigateStandardLinks> What the above does is call a series of DTML Methods that list (in the above case) all the Folders in a particlar folder, the Squishdot forums, the DTML Documents, any folder specific items, and then a list of standard links. Note, I could have made one big navigateEverything method, but decided against it because I would have that much more code running around when all I wanted to do was preclude one specific function. The method I have above keeps the navigation as a function of category, and is easier to manage, IMHO. In the sub folders, many of the above won't exist so nothing will be displayed (no harm there). The navigateFolder_Specific is a "catch all" DTML method that can be copied into a sub folder so that you can tailor navigation points for the specific folder in question. All of these DMTL Methods are acquired by the sub folders. This is good because you only need to create a custom navigateXXXX DTML Method when you want to override the one in the root folder. In most cases, the methods in the default folder provide the desired behavior. This makes managing the site a snap. Hope that helps. Found the problem - my zope user did not have write permissions to the zope directory - /usr/local/zope in my case. Purdue Event System 1.3.1

Andy, I made a couple of small presentation changes to the 1.3.0 install you did yesterday. Could you install this one on the test server. If it installs okay it can go on the live server. The "MasterEventsCatalog" in the root needs to be removed and recreated because I added a couple of indexes. Thanks, --Brian

Zope/Xron/Apache

Hello, I am having problems with xron and virtual hosting. The zope/apache virtual host set up works fine, but when I have a xron job that doesn't run properly, it hangs the whole system. Furthermore, when I stop and restart zope, the restarted process also hangs (it never gets to the line about Z HTTP server). Any hints from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Shilpa

ZODB Imports

I'm reworking a Python application that uses the ZODB stand-alone. I'm running Zope on my system locally and there is a Zodb folder in the installation but the import statements don't work and I cn see that's because the ZODB module no longer exists, at least under that name. Perhaps this is a move from ZODB2 to ZODB3? Anyway, could someone point me in the direction of figuring out how to update the following import statements so they work with the new Zope ZODB stuff?
