IIS - No pcgi info file given error

I'm trying to configure Zope and IIS to live together with PCGI. I found a few posts on this and installed the pgci executable and zope.pcgi config file in the IIS scripts directory. Then, I modified the registry for my Zope install. I am getting the following error: Temporarily Unavailable The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later The trace is No pcgi info file given! pcgi-wrapper-version 2.0a4 I can't find anything on this error. Any help appreciated (and I'll document it), Josh

SmartSections question

Dear All, I played with the SmartSections online demo on Iuveno's site (http://demo.iuveno-net.de/iuveno/Products/SmartSection/Demo) and it looked pretty damn good. I can't get it working. Has anyone had success or have any pointers? I've installed both Transparent & Ordered folder products as instructed with no errors. SmartSections appears in the "Add" drop-down but I get the traceback error below when I try to Add it. It complains about not having "translate" connected to a database. I've got to create a d/b connection, no worries. Does anyone know any more detail about what tables or configuration are needed? Thanks for your time, Simon. CoreSessionTracking, two SDMs, same var: Brings Zope to its knees

I'm using CoreSessionTracking 0.9.0 successfully in my application. Recently I stumbled on an issue that woke my curiosity. When I have two Session Data Managers, can they have the same var stored? The following is an exact setup that results in dead Zope: DTML Method "cst_multi_write": <dtml-var frame_html_header> <dtml-call "cst_multi_write_script()"> <h1>Wrote to two SDMs.</h1> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> Script (Python) "cst_multi_write_script": data_1=context.SDMorg.getSessionData() data_1.set('fname','sdmORG') data_1=context.SDMart.getSessionData() data_1.set('fname','sdmART') return DTML Method "cst_multi_read": <dtml-var frame_html_header> <dtml-let data="SDMorg.getSessionData()"> <b>SDMorg fname:</b> <dtml-var "data.get('fname')"><br> </dtml-let> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> What happens: I can run cst_multi_write just fine. However, when I run cst_multi_read, it never gives any result (browser keeps "spinning" indefinitely). And Zope dies in a few clicks. First symptoms include inability to access Internal Data Container of a Session Data Manager using ZMI. Then Zope stops responding. "z2.py" does not consume CPU cycles. The only remedy is to "killall python2" and restart Zope. -- Milos Prudek

CST with Ext.session data container (SQL)

Hi All, I would like to try CoreSessionTracking 0.9 with External data container, to store session data in a SQL table. I figured that I'll need to instantiate Session Data Container. But there is no place in Session Data Container management screens to specify the SQL connection to use. OTOH, Session Data Manager has a place to specify Session Data Container. So I now have Session Data Manager pointing to correct Session Data Container, but I don't know how to point Session Data Container to a SQL table. -- Milos Prudek

PCGI Error explanation (Second Request)

Anyone, I don't want to be a pest but our system is randomly giving the "Temporarily Unavailable" error message to clients and I don't know what is causing it. If I can't get an explanation of these error messages I'm afraid my boss will make me move away from using Zope. So please someone give me some help. I'm getting the following errors in my pcgi.log file. I do not know what they mean. could someone enlighten me? If you don't know what they mean could you please point me to some documentation on how PCGI logs errors? My setup is Zope 2.2.0 on Windoze NT 4 using IIS 4 for SSL support. I've searched the mailing list and all other documentation that I could find with no luck. Running Zope on managed Web server

Hello, I'm brand spanking new to Zope, but managed to get it installed and running on a home system. Pair hosts my Web site, and I'd like to use Zope, but I'm a little confused about the best way to do this. Is it enough to build content and do development on my home system and upload to my Pair site(s), or do I really need to be accessing and developing through an installed copy of Zope on Pair? If the latter is true, how can I best configure Zope to be accessible through my Pair account. Reading WEBSERVERS.txt I actually was able to fire up pcgi and log into the Zope in- terface through http://my.web.address.com:8080/manage. So, if I can do that, does it mean I'm all set and ready to be building my site with Zope on Pair? If you only answer one question, tell me how I can learn to use Zope if I'm installing and running it on a managed site where I don't have privileges to Apache/IIS or any Web server? Thanks so much! Microsoft is calling the ZSPs for survey

Microsoft is surveying people on the ZOPE providers list about OSS.... I just answered the survey for the hell of it to find out that it was MS who paid for it. Very interesting. Any ideas what this means? Just competitive intel I suppose. Some of the ?'s were pretty funny... such as the one about where do you get support if you don't pay for it. Whoever gets called next, ask the surveyer if it is just the Zope list or if they have other lists that they are calling (I'd like to know and hopefully you would too). I know most folks want to take data out of a database adn create web pages, but I want to do the reverse. I want to grab any old web page that I like and stuff it into a sql database, and I'd like to do this with Zope. I have a table with a column that contains all the urls of the pages I want to grab, I'm just not sure how to do the grabbing. Advice, tips, or tricks? db ps.
