Loading a legacy site?

Hi, I'm attempting to save myself several hours of work by bulk loading a legacy site into my new Zope instance. However I can't seem to get the right syntax or something with the load_site utility. I've also tried uploading via FTP and WebDAV and can't do that either. The FTP seems to work if the file already exists, but I can't create new files/folders. WebDAV seems to have the same problem from Goliath (a WebDAV client). And I can't seem to get Dreamweaver Ultradev to see either FTP or WebDAV. I've looked at the ZipFolder extension but can't figure out what to do with it for installation/configuration. Any ideas or solutions would be extremely helpful. Turning off undo for zope objects?

I remember seeing a post a while back about disabling the undo feature for zope objects to prevent the data.fs file from becoming too big. I can't find the post and can't find anything on the zope site (I dunno good keywords to search for). Anyone know the command to turn off undo? get Folder object from string name

I have a string that contains the name of a folder, and I want to add files to that folder with a Script(Python) method add_file_to_folder. The name of the folder is contained in the REQUEST object field 'id'. If eval worked, I could do: eval("context.Patients.%s.manage_addFile(id='', file=REQUEST.get('file'))" % REQUEST.get('id')) (So the folder I want to write to is a subfolder of 'Patients'.) But eval doesn't work in a python script. I could use an External Method, but I suspect there is a good way to do this using the Zope API. Suggestions? Thanks a bunch, John Hunter

_.SecurityGetUser.hasRole does not work for Anonymous

Hi, I've just been bitten by _.SecurityGetUser.hasRole('Manager') It has been mentioned in August 2001 by Brian as deprecated. Brian also suggested to use "has_role" and he also mentioned "has_permission". Could Zope Book be updated to describe these new methods? -- Milos Prudek

Displaying XML-like text in webpage

Hello, I have a small problem. I would like to display some XML-style-like text in a webpage (actually it's the content of a RealPix file if anyone knows this) - but it only shows up in the html source. It has tags like <imfl> <image> and so on ... Anyone knows how I get this text displayed in the html page ? All These Modules...

Hi; I just installed a bunch of products and have run into several problems with ImportErrors. The tracebacks all end the same: No module named whatever. Here's the list of missing modules: ldap html_quote get_request MySQL expr_globals CMFCore.PortalContent Do these modules belong in python or zope? Where do I get them? TIA, BenO

Rendering DTML in my own Product

Hello! I wrote a product to publish news. It has its own management screen for editing the content (headline, text, picture, source and release date). Because my product (class) inherits from "Folder" I had to overwrite "index_html": index_html=DTMLFile('dtml/index_html',globals()) "index_html" contains: <dtml-var headline> <dtml-var picture> <dtml-var text> <dtml-var releasedate> - <dtml-var source> All this works very well. Now the part that doesn't work :-( If I write something like <dtml-var foo> in my "text", the <dtml-var foo> isn't resolved. So I had a look at DTMLDocument.py and found a method called "__call__()" that does the rendering of the DTML code. That was exactly what I was looking for, so now my class also inherits from "DTMLDocument". Unfortunately "__call__()" requires the attribute "data". I tried the following as a test (after commenting out the DTMLFile line): data=text def index_html(self,REQUEST): """ """ return self.__call__(self,REQUEST) I thought the result would be the rendered content of "text" with <dtml-var foo> resolved, but the result was an attribute error for "raw", and I can't find anything about "raw".
