Is it possible to protect DTML source code

Hi, is it possible to protect the code of Zclasses or DMTL methods. For PHP there exists something like PHPguardian. Is there something like this for zope? I guess it would be difficult to implement something like it in zope, but not impossible, but I didn't find anything. Thanks, Dirk

Importing from Zope 2.5.1

Hi We have a Zope 2.5.1 + CMF 1.3 + Plone1b1 Site I exported this site and wanted to import it into a Zope 2.6 + CMF 1.3 + Plone1b2 I get an error: ----- Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: getUserById ----- Does anyone know, what the problem is? Are there other ways to get my Zope 2.5.1 Site into the Zope 2.6? regards Lars

Idea of Caching DTML Methods in Zope

Hi all, I have idea about another caching method in Zope. I am very sorry if it exist, but I dont know that. If I have for example very expensive or manytimes called method, I cannot cache it via RAM cache manager, because it gives the same output regardless place from where are calling. For example, two methods: siteroot <dtml-var BASE1>/ localroot <dtml-in "PARENTS[3:]">../</dtml-in> (3 because I use virtual servers as zoperoot/www/domain ) So siteroot can be cached via RAM cache manager without no problems, because constructing URLs are <dtml-var siteroot>images/imege.gif output will http://www.domain.com/images/imege.gif But localroot could not be cached, because i receive bad locations: <dtml-var localroot>images/imege.gif output will ../../images/imege.gif If localroot are cached, then output of that will be same regardless of calling directory, it is computed from first access. So it is possible to do "dynamic" caching? What I mean, is store all localroot objects in context of calling direcotry (or another object). I have few hundreds of calling localroot per page and I will be hapy if it will have some solution for that. I dont want migrate to siteroot because it makes absolute URLs, not relative. I know, I could use squid and Accelerated cache manager as reverse cache for caching whole pages, but it is not wanted solution (because you cannot see immediatelly changes to pages). Query on CMF.

Hi, I am using Zope 2.5.1 and am using CMF site to manage the pages. With the current workflow, pages under a particular user can be viewed by all only if it's state is published. This is fine. But if the user wants to make some changes he will have to retract the item for doing so. During this time no one is able to view the page. Is it possible to make the latest version of the page available for viewing by other users? Also the edited new page should be made available after it is published. Any workflow available to implement the same? Expecting an earlier response. Thank you. Regards, Paul.

can't ftp to Zope

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem getting Dreamweaver (and any other ftp or WebDAV client for that matter) to work with Zope. I know this has been covered before ad nauseum, but none of the solutions seem to fit what I've done. I posted briefly on this topic recently, but I've been messing with it some more and I hope I can provide a little more information. I can connect to Zope via ftp with no trouble. The problem is that I can't put any HTML-formatted files. I can transfer images with no trouble, even an MS Word file worked OK. When I try to transfer files with HTML formatting (with or without an .html extension) I apparently don't have write permission on the remote server. WebDAV puts fail similarly with a 500 internal server error. The system is running Zope 2.5.1 and python 2.1.3 (Debian). LocalFS question

Hi, I have a LocalFS whose view settings are set to allow only manager to see them. Now I have a page that has direct links to the contents of the LocalFS (I contains images videos and soudn files only). Even though I set up that page to have a proxy as manager, I get a forbidden error when I click on any of those links. What I actually want is that 1. The LocalFS File listing is not visible to the users. 2. Nobody should be able to jus type in a URL and have direct access to my resource without going through a accept license page. How do I do what I want?? My hunch is that they mean obscure the code like MS script encoder does for ASP so that users of the software can't read said code (read: proprietary software). I have no idea why you would want to do this for TTW code?
