Hi, In my standard_html_header if I put the following: ...... <body> <noscript> <dtml-raise NoJavascript></noscript> <noscript> ......</body> which is then handled by my standard_error_message. Now the problem is even if scripting is enabled, the error is raised. My standard_error_message redirects to an error page, so I tried redirecting directly from within the noscript tags, and the same happens: even though scripting is enabled I get redirected. So I thought maybe it needs some text inside it to function properly, and so I put some plain text inside the noscript tags and still the same. What is the problem? If it cant be solved this way how do I go about it?? pyperl leaks memory

The following Python script leaks about 8MB on my system (Debian Woody, Perl 5.6.1, Python 2.1.3, pyperl-1.0.1). Python's cyclic garbage collection is enabled. Perl is compiled w/o threads. pyperl is compiled w/o MULTI_PERL. #!/usr/bin/env python import perl # create 100000 empty perl arrays and immediately discard them. for x in range(100000): perl.array(()) The MULTI_PERL code (that does not get used because of the singly-threaded Perl) appears to have a reference counting scheme. For those of you with multi-threaded Perl, does the previous program leak/consume substantial memory? Is there some way to force garbage collection or manually decrement the reference count? Is there an extra reference stored because of the shared Python/Perl object that prevents either the Perl or Python GC routines from garbage collecting the unused objects? I've gotten around the problem by running the leaky code in a fork, but that's sloppy and shouldn't be necessary. pyperl can be found at: http://downloads.activestate.com/Zope-Perl/pyperl-1.0.1.tar.gz if you're interested. If you want a very solid date/time library that is *very* easy to use for date calculations, I would recommend looking into the mx library. It has a DateTime sub-library that is wonderfully intuitive, and easy to work with. For example, a snip of mx.DateTime code: from mx import DateTime halloween = DateTime.Date(2002,10,31) weekBeforeHalloween = halloween - DateTime.oneWeek halloween_seconds = halloween.ticks() today_midnight = DateTime.today(0,0,0) # h,m,s I ran into a very similar problem last spring with daylight savings time while trying to generate a nice little calendar, and after I picked up the mx library it made life with dates 100% easier. hope that might help anyone struggling with date calcs in python, :paul > I stumbled upon a strange occurrence when I incrementally > add days using the DateTime function.

Zope on a Windows 2K cluster behind IIS

Hi! I'm trying to retrieve some info in order to perform a "sui generis" Zope installation for a (very obstinate) customer. 1) install Zope on a Windows 2K cluster 2) access it via IIS 1) I've found the Karin's post on the ZDP here http://zdp.zope.org/projects/zbook/book/II/ZopeLayers/ZopeServer/Comments/9… and it seems quite complete. Does anybody have some experience in doing the same kind of installation on Win2K or some other feedback on a similar experience? 2) I've found two approachs: a) using PCGI as described here http://zdp.zope.org/projects/zbook/book/VII/IntegraWebServers/IntegraWindow… b) using something similar to Apache's mod_proxy directives (aaah, if I could use Apache.....;-) but you need to purchase ISA Server and the customer isn't willing to do so. c) another approach is the one explained here http://www.zope.org/Members/andym/ASP404 , but I find it a bit too tricky... Are these approachs (especially a) compatible with a WIn2K cluster Zope installation as described in 1) ? I'm not experienced in Win administration and I would appreciate any feedback/help/pointer to other doc over this matter. I could also make a fine job and publish a nice HOW-TO after having survived this foolish installation... ;-) Thanks! Mik

Incrementing with DateTime

I stumbled upon a strange occurrence when I incrementally add days using the DateTime function. For some reason, on Sunday October 27 (it has to be a Sunday) of any given year, when I try to add a day to it, it only adds 23 hours instead of 24...causing the day to still be the 27th (with 23 hours added). Standard_error_message and 2.6.0

Hi all, You might have noticed that when you get errors in your DTML/ZPT etc that the tracebacks in the HTML page are no longer there. You have two choices (as I see it); 1) edit lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPResponse.py, look for APPEND_TRACEBACKS and set it to 1 Or 2) add the following to the end of your standard_error_message .... <dtml-var standard_html_footer>  Your choice - I opted for the second. Importing -> Disk full

Hi, I'm trying to import a *.zexp File into Zope 2.6 which lies in /opt on a RedHat 7.2. During the import process the filesystem mounted on / gets full !!! Why that? What does Zope do on /, when it's supposed to hold it's data in /opt ? How can I change this? I cannot change the capacity for / !!! Any Ideas? regards Lars

[ Projekt01, Roger Ineichen] What can I do if I whould return html code frome a external > method? It always quote the return string > Mostly, you should not return html from an external method. Return a string, list, or dictionary and create the html from that using dtml or zpt. That is what they are good at. There can be one exception, and that is if you use the external method to run an stylesheet to transform some xml into html. I do that, and I have never needed anything else but dtml-var. Of course, I still use an older version of Zope, but I do not think that has changed. Cheers, Tom P

newbie question CMF/Plone

Hi, Can anybody tell me how to edit a portal_type (like File) to be able to add new properties (metadata) (for example: "geofocus") to the file using CMF/Plone ? Simply adding additional metadata doesn't seem to work. I tried modifying the File.py and the DublinCore.py scripts to include additional entries, and the file_edit_form as well. But when a try to add a File type, it returns the message : Dating not found in 'request/geofocus | here/Geofocus' What else should I do ? Thanks, Fabien.
