Debugger into python products with ZEO2 on win32

I have CVS ZEO2, Zope 2.5.1 running on WinXP, PythonWin for Python 2.1 installed. I need to learn how to use a debugger to get information on what's happening on live objects (i.e when a form is submitted, I'd like to view the request and step through) Specifically I have a strange string.strip() error that just popped up on a customized Formulator product I'm working on, and I figure I should be able to debug this better than the traceback (see below). I can open up PythonWin or zope's console python and after Import Zope'ing, I can access the object model. While that's been invaluable as a sort of offline code-completion, that really isn't helping me debug live object behavior, which is where I'm running into some diffuculty as my product comes into shape. I'd really like to learn how to do this with the console or PythonWin, rather than use WingIDE or another IDE, but whatever it takes I'll do. With the setup I have, is there anything I can do to debug what happens at a specific request like the one described here? Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Hi Does anyone know how to do wildcard DNS/subdomains with Zope? I want to be able to have something like anydomain.mydomain.com where anydomain is anything the user enters at anytime and doesn't demand a DNS entry or directory is set-up. I'd like to create a service like wasarrested.com but less rude :-) (i.e. try http://www.zope.developer.wasarrested.com/hack ) - it takes the variables from the subdomain and generates an article. VHM - ZCatalog - Find Objects

CatalogPathAware works very well for ZClasses under Virtual Host Monster. Object paths do not include the folder that VHM points to, if <dtml-call reindex_object> is used when creating the ZClass instance. Also when changing ZClass instance properties and running <dtml-call reindex_object>, object paths are ok. But when ZMI is used to mass-catalog (Find Objects tab), the folder is always added. Objects in the catalog have ABSOLUTE paths, i.e. paths which include the container folder which should be hidden by VHM. This is incorrect. Can I work around this? Or should I file a bug in Collector? -- Milos Prudek

Getting zctl.py To Start ftpd-- Was: Is Anyone Listening?? Port 8021 Isn't!

It (finally) strikes me that the reason I can't get my ftpd started on port 8021 is because I'm using InstanceHome and zctl.py, not the standard *start* script in the distro. So...How do I get ftpd started from zctl.py? Here's what the script has: I'm trying to figure out how to pass a flag or tweak the script. I think that the question was "I have DTML source in a database. Can I retrieve and render this source?" (which seems rather dangerous to me, but anyway... You'd have to look at creating a DTMLDocument object (in memory), insert the source, then call it (which will render it).
