DCOracle2

I have an external method calling a function that is connecting to an Oracle database using DCOracle2. When I call this function from the shell it runs fine; connects to the database. From zope however it doesn't work. It errors out at the DCOracle2.connect(connectionstring). Any help on this or any information on how to debug this error would be greatly appreciated. TIA -H

upload file to a localFS directory

Hi! I was wondering why I can't upload a file inside a localfs directory? What it does is instead of uploading the file inside the localfs directory, it places it outside. But when I changed the localfs directory to a normal folder, files are uploaded inside the folder. Can you give any ideas on this so I could upload a file to a localFS directory? context.alocalfsdir.manage_addFile() # doesn't work properly Thanks!! --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Python, Win2k and LFS-support

Hi all, I just realized Python doesn't support large file systems in Windows 2000. For living in the illusion it did it's a brute awakening. I didn't find much about it by googling, can anybody confirm this? Are there any Win32 versions of Python that could support this or is it not possible at all? Hi, (Disclaimer: I'm a complete newbie to zope as well as Python!) I created something similar to what you want to do -- a two level order menu based on what child folders are available. I assigned an "order" property to each folder. Then I crawl through my "folder" tree, get the title, id, order number, url (and whatever other information I want) for each folder, put that into a tuple, then put that tuple into a list. Then I sort the list. If "order" is the first value in each tuple, the folders will be ordered by the "order" value. Then I can print out that ordered list of folders anyway I like. Disadvantages: If you have a lot of child folders, it's hard to tell what order they're in. You'd have to view the properties of each child to see it's "order" value. The dream would be to create a custom management view of your folders that displays the order value of each folder. Then you could view and change them all at once. You could also create columns to display and edit other properties of interest. That would make it very easy for non-programmers to add folders and reorder them as they like. But like I said, I'm a complete newbie and this was my first zope/python script. I haven't attached it cause it's not pretty. But if you want to see it I'll send it to you. Output child folders in a specifc order?

The links come through as some random order, I want to be able to control this order, not alpha, but a defined order: I have 5 folders, I want to be able to tell it which ones to output 1st, 2nd, etc >> This will then form my navigation.
