how to create an object programmaticaly

hi there I'm trying to create an object in a python script, like this it works: context.manage_addProduct['ChernobylObjects'].<my zclass>.createInObjectManager('myId', container.REQUEST ) the object is created in the same folder as I call the script. but now I'd like to create a new object in another folder (not in a parent, not in a sibbling an not in a subfolder) like this: /folder1/subfolder (I'm here) /folder2/subfolder2/subfolder3 (that's where I'd like to create my new object) I have the destination path for my object in a string variable. this path changes constantly (for some special apllication reasons). how can I create my object with the path for it in a string variable? regards daniel

newbie question: restart zope remotely?

Hi, I just installed a product (formulator) and used the zope management console to restart zope (version 2.5, windows). In the past zope has come right back up, no problem. But not this time. So I'm not geographically near my server, and was wondering if I can run a script to restart remotely? thanks for any suggestions, Robert (who will now only install products when he is physically in front of the machine and can stop and start zope)

That is incorrect. It happens anytime there is a NameNotFound error, try it for yourself before. The standard error show just fine for everything else. Getting ZClass instances from Zope via XML-RPC ??

I am wondering how to get ZClass instances from Zope to a Java XML-RPC client. 1. I have (and please forgive the Java-like pseudocode; i'm new to Python) a product with a ZClass call Invoice (meta = "Invoice Main") class Invoice { String invoice_name int invoice_id date invoice_date } 2. I have a Python Script (named 'invoice') that goes: results=[] for object in context.Projects.objectValues('Invoice Main'): results.append(object) return results 3. When i test this script directly in Zope, i get: [<Project instance at 014A00F0>, <Project instance at 01832800>, <Project instance at 015A2D80>] 4. Well, It appears (Zope 2.4) that one can't catch the NameNotFound Error? Is this true? Whenever I point to a non-existent page, the error message is not the standard_error_html, in fact it appears to be a message that is hard coded in the python code. newline_to_br without breaking source code

Hello, i want to use a textarea form input in a java script and also in html tags. Wenn i use the newline_to_br attribut it works fine in html, but it breaks the source code. This is no matter in html, but in javascript. In javascript i want only the <br> but no linebreak. Does anybody has an solution for my problem ? Thanks Harry
