2.5 upgrade, Sessions - too clever for myself

Rather than doing the 2.5 Session upgrade work-around, I thought I'd be smart and delete the session_data_manager before restarting Zope (after changing start to use zope-2.5 pythonhome rather than Zope-2.5b3) No I keep getting AttributeError on request.SESSION.getSessionData() Seems the SESSION object doesn't have this method anymore. However if I create a new session_data_manager lower in the tree, and point that at a new transient object container in /temp_folder, then it works again. However if I restart zope, the transient object I created disappears. Seems to be a problem in /temp_folder/session_data, except that even if I create a new transient object /temp_folder/mysession and point the root session_data_manager object at it, I still get attributeError on getSessionData(0 Anyone have any ideas? IBM DB2/CLI Database Adapter

Anybody know about the current status of this DA? I'm currently locked into using Perl ZDBI_DA to get access to a DB2 datasource. I've had some problems with connections being reset and the DBI_DA lacks a table browser. Any information would be appreciated. -- Robin

Copy from different levels at the same time?

Hi there I guess my problem had come up before, but I couldn´t find it in the archive. 1) I´ve got a folder hierarchy: A B C 2) I use an external method to go through the hierarchy and display it in a way similar to the ZMI (manage_workspace): <form> []A [] B [] C [copy] [rename] [...] </form> 3) If selected, the id of each folder is stored in "ids" which is a list (like it is in manage_workspace): [X]A [ ] B [X] C -> ids['A','C'] 4) Now I want to copy the folders I selected somewhere else. So I send ids towards a DTML Method called "action" which is placed above the hierarchy. I tried to do <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('clipboard',manage_copyObjects(ids))"> but I got some errors. I guess the point is the "self" in manage_copyObjects(self,...,), isn´t it? I tried to simply select "A" and moreover I added <dtml-with parent_folder_of_A> ...manage_copyObjects(ids) </dtml-with> in my "action" method. It worked! So I concluded that I need to get the context of every object in ids. The problem is that the objects are placed in different levels of the hierarchy. To solve this problem I thought of something like: **** PSEUDO-CODE ********* Script: for object in ids: getParent(object)/getContext(object) or in dtml: <dtml-in ids> <dtml-with sequence-item(PARENTS[1]) </dtml-with> </dtml-in> ************************** I don´t exactly know how to do that. slow authentication popup in 2.5.0?

Hello, Before moving my Zope installation to 2.5.0 i tested it on my own machine. It works fine, only the authentication popup shows after a long time (20-25 seconds). The rest is working normal. Is this "slow authentication popup" normal behaviour in 2.5? my test machine is not a very good machine (w98), but with 2.4 there was no problem with this. custom error message

Hi, yes I read all docs on zope.org and I managed to make a custom error page. But it i only shown for some errors. If a parameter is wrong (string instead of int) and my DB method fails I will get my custom page (my user will and I get an email) but for 404 error it shows all the time the Zope builtin error page. BTW, for role 'Manager' I would like to get all debug Info. So I inserted <dtml-var REQUEST> <dtml-var error_tb> in my error page. REQUEST is printed as HTML and works fine, but the traceback is printed as text and the browser puts everything in one line. The opposite problem exists for the email to me, how to print REQUEST as text instead of HTML? Any ideas? Request for IPC10 and Zope 3 Sprint Pictures

Oh, ye mailing list gods, forgive the cross-post... I am making a photo album that will be featured in the next issue of the Zope news. I took several snap-shots at the Python conference and the Zope 3 Sprints, but I'm sure I missed a lot. If anyone cares to contribute some snapshots they took to the photo album, please send them to me! Just email the jpegs (any size, I will crop) to me and if possible a caption or a list of the people in the picture (I don't know everybody 8^). And please make sure the pictures are suitable for "family viewing" 8^). I will of course give each photographer credit in the album. Thanks a bunch! P.S.
