Hi, I have a Zope Implementation using LocalFS product. There are a good number of pdf and doc files on the filesystem. I am thinking of a providing a Search utility for the pdf and doc files using Zcatalog. Is this possible? if not what other strategy can I use. Thanks In Advance Kamal Deep Singh

Authentication from a script

Hello, We are using ZUnit for our automated unit test suite. Some of the tests are checking permission handling and therefore need to be able to "impersonate" authenticated users. Currently our code uses REQUEST['AUTHENTICATED_USER'] everywhere and the tests (which are basically external Python scripts) do from AccessControl.User import SimpleUser REQUEST['AUTHENTICATED_USER'] = SimpleUser('user', 'passwd', ('Role1', 'Role2'),()) However we are now planning to switch to the new API (SecurityGetUser etc.), and it is unclear how we can substitute a different user object in our tests. "global name 'REQUEST' is not defined"

Hello, all, Once again, it seems I must be misunderstanding something very basic. I have a DTML method that's being called from a DTML document, and it contains the code: <dtml-if expr="REQUEST.get(field_var)"> ... </dtml-if> where field_var is a dtml variable that has been set to the name of another dtml variable that certainly exists in the parent document. For example, field_var == "lastname", and the parent DTML document has either received "lastname=Blah" in its request, or has done "REQUEST.set('lastname','')" if not. But the code above yeilds an error: "global name 'REQUEST' is not defined". Since it's defined in the parent document, shouldn't it also be defined for the DTML method? According to "The Book of Zope" the REQUEST object is defined "for the duration of the web request"; surely that must include the invocation of DTML methods within the target document? need a user registration scheme (Zope 2.4)

Hi folks, I am trying to set up a rather straightforward website, with some basic user registration (login, pw and nickname). I find that LoginManager doesn't work, and hence I assume Bill's "Membership" product that is based on it won't either. What mechanism would work best under Zope 2.4. I don't anticipate more than a few hundred users at most. Thanks, Roy.

Broken page templates in 2.5.0

I have just installed a vanilla source build of Zope 2.5.0 and all the included page templates are broken. Hello, As far as I know: If for some reason your zope http request doesn't complete, you end up with all the threads busy, and the site doesn't respond anymore. Hi - can you go to a higher level folder and undo from there? Another option - FTP or webdav into the server, and delete the folder? Aquisition and supermethod calls

Hi, I was wonder how one should do an analog of supermethod calls for aquisition. For example I may want the index_html in some folder to wrap some information around the aquired index_html. I have come up with the incantation +++++ index_html ++++ some added stuff <dtml-var "PARENTS[1].index_html(this(),REQUEST,RESPONSE)"> some more added stuff ++++++++++++++++++++++ This, however, leads to infinite recursion errors if the new index_html is itself being acquired. Is there a better way to do what I want? [Using header and footer methods will not help, since "index_html" is not the the method I am actually working with] thanks Daniel
