Hi, If the problem is upload from client without browser, for multiple uploads with one click, I uploaded a file to my Zope Server with cUrl (http://curl.haxx.se/) command line, so I think possible use it in a Python script. (I'm not a Python expert so this is only my idea: it is so wrong? I also tried with standard Python libraries and http://curl.haxx.se/rfc/rfc2388.txt without success :(). Thanks Michele

dtml-in help

Hi All: I want to put a set <dtml-in> tag based on a select variable as such: <dtml-if "select=='All'"> <dtml-in get_all_users> <dtml-else> <dtml-in get_select_users> </dtml-if> but I keep getting an error. Can I do this? Regards, Todd

Hi, If a user does not have permission to access an object it usually outputs the message: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Unauthorized (item 0): You are not authorized to access 0 In this case, I created a subfolder that inherited index_html and the standard header and footer. Help!- locked out of my Zope

Forgive me I'm a newbie- also not too up on UNIX or Apache (taking the Crash course here...) Have a virtual private server on FreeBSD behind Apache. Installed Zope, got it working with one of my virtual hosts, thanks to the docs. Was working in the VH and accidentally created a DTML method that called itself- infinite loop- and before I could stop that, BAM! The database gets wiped out back to the install version with nothing. I go into Undo (probably unwise move here, but I was upset) and try to back out of the install, thinking that somehow a new install got triggered. This was last Friday. since then I've tried everything I can to ./stop ./start, reinstall, uninstall, use zpasswd to change the access and inituser files, comment out LoadModule line for FastCGI, etc. Zope, some version is still running but I cannot log in- period. Read in an FAQ somewhere that, uh, now I can't remember what it told me to do, something about permissions. Then I saw something about both Zope and Apache needing permissions for PCGI, or at read / write on zope.soc with fastCGI. Any help greatly appreciated. Making a folder-like object?

The Subject line is not the question; it's only a possible start-of-answer... I'm building an application, using Zope and a database, where users can upload files. These files are stored as BLOBs in the DB, not in the ZODB. The problem is to get back the filename when a user downloads a file. I. e., I'll have things like: <a href="http://my.host/retrieve?id=42">results.xls</a> where ``retrieve´´ is the script. I would like instead to be able to present an address like: <a href="http://my.host/retrieve/42/results.xls">results.xls</a> This is the only way I know of to pass the filename to the client (though I'd be happy to be corrected). So: Is this possible directly? Otherwise, should I start hacking, e.g., Gary Poster's FakeFolder, or are there better ways? Thanks, Yves [Please CC: me answers as I'm not on the list]

exUserFolder with smb - zope 2.5 hangs up

Hello, i'm using ... exuserfolder 0.10.7 in a subfolder zope 2.5 smb authentication null property null membership Authentication works as much as i can see fine (i checked the smb frames with eathereal). Login works only, if there is already the same username in root acl_user. But it only works one time. If i try to visit a second site zope hangs up. How does zope know, what roles this smb_user has ? Tries exuserfolder to use the roles from root_acl_user ? How can i define Users without having them in root_acl_users ? Thanks for some postings, Harry

Hi all, I know that this topic has been rolled up several times, but I've only found rather "bad" examples. Imagine a simple site: /folder1 /folder2 /folder3/folder4 We also the method "buildMenu" in the root: <dtml-in expr="objectValues(['Folder'])"> <some output code> </dtml-in> So if we call buildMenu from the root, it works as expected, and renders: folder1 folder2 folder3 But when called from folder1, it renders nothing, since there are no folders. But the question is: Is it possible to tell objectValues that it should perform relative to the "buildMenu" method rather than using the parent object (for example, index_html in folder1?). Of course, having a PARENTS[-1] is a workaround, but not a real solution. Is there a possibility to tell objectValues WITHOUT an absolute reference to something that it should work relative to buildMenu? Best regards, Timo -- Timo A.
