What is "default__class_init__"?

Can anybody tell me what you use "default__class_init__" from Globals for? I've seen it used many times in python products but never really understood its use. Is it used in conjunction with setting the "__ac_permissions__" property? If so, using the more modern "AccessControl.ClassSecurityInfo()", is there no need for "default__class_init__" anymore? Curious, Peter

IT WORKS!! It's very slow, and I still have to work out some authentication issues, but I just successfully attached a file in Outlook 2000. ZEO is storing the file, Zope is serving it, davfs is mounting the whole site as a filesystem, Samba is exporting it, and all Windows has to do is map the SMB share and let Outlook access it. Here's what I have: RedHat 7.2 (2.4.9 kernel), davfs 0.2.3, Samba 2.2.1, Zope 2.5.0, ZEO 1.0b5. On the client side, Win2000SP2, Office2000SP2. For those that are interested, WebDrive on the client did the job much better than this server setup, but I'm still doubtful that they'll let me insist on a client-side solution. I still may not win the fight, but at least I now have more ammunition. Thank you so much to all who chimed in. Why would you manually add to a Vocabulary

In the No Starch Book_of_Zope, they walk through the API for manually adding a word to a vocabulary. Why would you want to do this? I don't understand what advantage you would get here. adding 'classes->products programmatically w/out the product existing in drop down list

In order to subdivide a large product, I would like to create a directory structure to hold hierarchial class files. Like: Animal ->Mammal ->Aquatic_Mammal ->Terrestrial_Mammal I would have a Animal class that would import: from Mammal import Mammal from Mammal.Aquatic_Mammal import Aquatic_Mammal and so forth. The method that would instantiate the Animal product would add the other products (i.e. Mammal, Aquatic_Mammal...) Each class would contain dtml, zsql methods and so forth and would be accessed via http://www.somesite.com/Animal/Mammal/Aquatic_Mammal/ I have seen this accomplished and I have tried about everything I know. I would not use registerClass because I only want Animal to show up in the 'add product' drop down box. Any direction appreciated.
