using Page Templ.: to change meta_ type of objects

in order to use page template in Zope I build a "template site" on my HTML editor on my local PC, where I see the default values of tals. Then I FTP-Upload the whole directory structure on Zope on remote server. Now I want to tell Zope to execute the tal statements inside the html files, but Zope don't knows it has to consider them as "Page Template" objects. How can I change their Meta_Type in an automatic way?

Copying objects in ZODB programmatically

I am trying to make a copy of an object in my ZODB using manage_copyObjects and manage_pasteObjects. Do I need to use Zope.AccessControl.SecurityManagement.newSecurityManager somehow? I'm using Zope 2.2.4, which for reasons too long to go into here I cannot change. Trouble with TimeStamp.o on install?

I've been spending the night trying to get Zope to compile on my system. It is an Intel based Solaris 8 box. I'm (now), using Python 2.1.2. Getting the contents of an acquired dtml method in a python script

I'm sure this is something simple, but none of my searches have uncovered the magical sequence. I've got several sites running from a single Zope folder. Some of the content and much of the functionality is shared among the different states. Each state folder contains dtml methods containing state-specific information (abbreviation, the id number used in the database, etc.) My script needs to get the contents of the abbreviation method for some URL munging, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it via script. Any suggestions? Thanks! modifying resolve_url method

Greetings, I am new to Object Oriented Programming and want to know what the best way to modify the resolve_url method is. I need to add one line of code to this method. I'm guessing I can edit lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPRequest.py, recompile it, and restart Zope. Is there a better way? The reason I need to do this is because I am using a SiteRoot and zope is generating a "Different Namespace" error when I do something like <dtml-var "REQUEST.resolve_url(URL1)"> Thanks, Steve

I've made a ZClass (via web) inside another like following (using ZClass:ObjectManager class) Programa (Product) -> EventManager_add (DTML) EventManager_addForm (DTML) EventManager_add_permission (Permission) Event_add_permission (Permission) EventManager_factory (Factory) EventManager (ZClass) * -> Event_add (DTML) Event_addForm (DTML) Event_factory (Factory) Event (ZClass) * -> edit (DTML) edit_form (DTML) ZMI interface is working fine but now i want to make an admin DTML outside of ZMI When a new EventManager is created i want to make Event (sub object of EventManager ) automatically, but i'm stuck when i try to create it. EventManager object will represent Year and Month Event object will represent Days of EventManager Here is a excert of dtml that is called when is submited an "add" EventManager form: --- <dtml-with expr="manage_addProduct['Programa']"> <dtml-call name="EventManager_add"> </dtml-with> <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('Day', '2')"> <dtml-call name="/Testing/Programa/123401/Event_add"> --- The last two lines are just for testing where: 'Day' - Event object id /Testing/Programa/ - Folder where is dtml 123401 - id of EventManager (already created) The EventManager object is created but i don't see a way to add Event objects inside it :( EventManager_add (on ZClass): --- (...) <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('id', Year + _.string.zfill(Month,2))"> <dtml-with "EventManager.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.Basic.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> (...) --- Event_add (on ZClass): --- (...) <dtml-with "Event.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['Day'], REQUEST)"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.basic.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> (...) --- if i put url: http://localhost:9999/Testing/Programa/123401/Event_add?Day=1 This way the EventObject is created. Hi Dieter. Yes, we have tried both passive and non passive FTP. In either case, according to the Z2.log we get enter Zope successfully, but the session appears to hang on the FTP "LIST" command. No files or directories are visible. Several folks have pointed to NAT problems, but why this problem would only show up only at the "LIST" request does not make sense to me.
