Possible OT: sudden Netscape problems with adding objects? enctype?

Well, I finally uninstalled both Netscape 3.04 and 4.5 (this was on Windows) and re-installed them. They share a common bookmark file. I had no trouble setting up 4.5, but when I tried to open my bookmark file in Navigator 3.04, the browser crashed. Several times. The bookmark file was around 164K. I manually deleted some entries from it, got the size to around 162K (this is very approximate and based on the numbers in windows Explorer) and it was able to import it then. So, you're wondering what this has to do with anything. Well, I can now use those special enctype forms just fine, in both browsers. I didn't test it before cleaning up and importing my bookmark file, but it definitely works now. I only deleted one or two entries from the bookmark file, which has grown by a bunch lately. I'm guessing that, at least in Netscape 3, maybe the entire bookmark file was being held in memory, which somehow interfered with the creation of the temporary files Netscape seems to use for those forms with the enctype="multipart/form-data". So, if anyone has this problem in the future, I'd suggest 1) deleting entries from your bookmark file, and 2) reinstalling the browser. Thanks for your kind reply, Thomas! Importing External Methods

Hello, I have two external methods in the same zope folder. Is there a way to import one of the external methods into the other one? I need to access a datatype class from one to the other. Thanks a lot for your help. Bel�n

Open documents as non-embedded

Hi, For some while ago I think this issue was discussed but I can't find it now. What I want is to know how to open documents (such as PDF, Word, Excel etc) so that they are not embedded within the web page. I.e. I want to achieve the same behavior as if the user choose "Save as..." and than open the document. Is it clear what I want? -- Best regards, Jonas The brain is a wonderful organ. I'm not sure this is a Zope problem, in fact it's looking like not, but I am having a problem adding objects to Zope using Netscape Navigator 4.5 and 3.04g. In 4.5, whenever I try to submit a form with the attribute enctype="multipart/form-data", the browser just sits there, as though it's waiting for a response, forever. 3.04G crashes in the same case. I've been using these browsers constantly for the past several weeks with Zope, but as of last night they stopped working. I cleared out the caches for both browsers. I can successfully submit forms that don't have the enctype set. I can add stuff using Internet Explorer. I can use a Mac. I haven't upgraded my Zope. I've tried with JavaScript on and off, accepting and declining cookies. I've used my own forms and tried adding plain old DTML methods and DTML documents. The problem remains consistent. I tried looking around the Netscape site, but couldn't find any information on this. Did a Google search from their site - found one other person who had posted this problem somewhere (Re: Netscape 4.75, I think), but no resolution. Has anyone else had this problem? Many thanks, Am

Hi All, I have a ZSQL Method & dtml-in with a batch size of 25, along with hyperlinks "Next 25 Results", "Previous 25 Results" to navigate. Does anyone know of a way to implement something like google, to provide a mechanism to jump to a particular page/batch, eg. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 ? Regards, Michael

Dear Dr. Zope(a)Zope.org, I have been appointed to serve as the General Chair of the Summer 2002 edition of the SSGRR series of international conferences. The SSGRR-2002S (Summer) conference on "Infrastructure for e-Business, e-Education, e-Science, and e-Medicine" takes place in SSGRR (Scuola Superiore G. Reiss Romoli), the delux congress and educational center of the Telecom Italia Group of companies. Programming-related papers (C,C++,JAVA,etc...) are of special interest for this conference, and your contributions are welcome! This is in L'Aquila near Rome, Italy, from July 29 (Monday) at 5pm (start of the Grand Opening) till August 4 (Sunday) at 10am (departure of busses to the Rome airport Fiumicino and the railway station Tiburtina). Most of the past participants beleive that this was one of the most interesting, most useful, and definitely THE most hospitable conference they ever attended. hasRole vs. has_role

Hello, I ran into some problems with these two methods. What is the difference between them? Here my problem: User has role 'PLAYER' but *not* 'MODERATOR' <dtml-unless "_.SecurityGetUser().has_role('MODERATOR')"> Has role MODERATOR </dtml-unless> doesn't print. Which is what I exspected. But <dtml-unless "_.SecurityGetUser().hasRole('MODERATOR')"> Has role MODERATOR </dtml-unless> does print the message. Why?
