CoreSessionTracking problem with <dtml-return>

Hi all, I have the following peice of DTML code : <dtml-let error_list="forms.validate_core_user_form"> <dtml-if "error_list != []"> <dtml-let data="session_data_mgr.getSessionData()"> <dtml-call "data.set('error_list',error_list)"> <dtml-var error_list> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> </dtml-let> for which I get the following error: Error Type: InvalidObjectReference Error Value: Attempt to store an object from a foreign database connection The function "validate_core_user_form" basically sets up a list: <dtml-let error_list="[]"> and populates it. and the return it with : <dtml-return error_list> I had to that because it seems session variables don't survive folder jumps (set in one / access in another and poof they disappear). Maybe a new session object created for a folder jump (I have to look into that) the <dtml-var error_list> faithfully prints out the right results. So what am I doing wrong here...??? Document Library & TextIndexNG... general search headaches.

I'm having trouble with Searches. 1.) Will TextIndexNG work with DocumentLibrary? 2.) Why does DocumentLibrary always return results for searches in the genral search and the advanced search always returns nothing. 3.) Why are the same results always returned, reguardless of what I search for? 4.) How can I reindex the indexes? 5.) Why can't I add TextIndexNG indexes to ZCataloges since upgrading to TextIndexNG 1.0x (all the RCs and 1.1 are still broken). There is no errors in the logs and the product shows up in the product list, but I can't find the index type in catalogs...)

Stuffing file objects into my objects

I have no concrete idea of what I'm doing, but I've managed to get pretty far... I have a product class that has an attribute that is an OFS.Image.File object. I have setter and getter methods called setFile() and getFile(), respectively. So far I can upload files and they get stored into my product, and I can even get the File objects out (via scripting). But what I'm not sure how to do is to access the file objects via a web path. Something to the effect of /stuff/product_instance/getFile. At this point /stuff/product_instance/getFile almost works. It works fine with images, text files, pdf on the Mac... But word documents don't seem to work, as if the content-type isn't being recognized by the browser on the download, i.e. Word docs are rendered as text files in the browser window. I have had this problem before, but my solution was to attach a file precondition that set some response headers: hdr_name = "content-disposition" hdr_value = 'attachment; filename="%s"' % filename context.REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader( hdr_name, hdr_value ) But now I have the File object embedded inside another object. How could I attach a precondition that would get called if the file is accessed via /stuff/product_instance/getFile? When I tried passing the name of an external script to the File constructor, but that doesn't seem to get called. Any ideas or help? Damon.

And you must not use "dtml-call" in this case, as it discards the return value. Dieter

DTML ques

Is there a DTML equivalent for this: Globals.MessageDialog(title ='Bad E-mail', message='The email is not in the correct form', action =REQUEST['URL1']+'/form', target ='') I basically have a form at the end of which there is a call to a validation script. If the validation fails I would like to present the form page again with some messages on top. I do the session storing the form vars stuff, but havent been able to figure out how to insert the error messages at the top of the page without storing all the stuff in the session var and all. Any ideas?? PyScript re.compile and access rights problem

Hi all, I cannot seem to be able to test a simple PyScript with a re.compile() in it. Zope says I dont have authority to call compile in this context. Can anybody shed some light on this? Do I have to go the external method way for this then..?? I have a problem with my Page Template: I want the visitors to have the opportunity to get one level up. In my product I have a field that is called 'level_up_txt'. If this field is filled in I want to use that, but when they leave the field empty they have to get a levelup icon. How can I arrange this in TAL? I've tried it like this: <a class="gnawlink" href="" tal:attributes="href container/absolute_url" tal:content="container/level_up_txt"> <img src="icon" width="16" height="16" border="0" alt="item" tal:attributes="src here/upfolder; alt here/meta_type" /></a> Where upfolder is the icon that I want to use. How to concatenate variables

Hi, I am having problems concatenating variables. I have seven pull down menus. Selecting one from each menu will create a part number. I setup a test to see if this would work. I have one dtml doc with the menus. After a submit it calls this dtml doc: <form name="form1" method="post" action=""> <dtml-let pn="' ' "> <dtml-call concat_sub_type_to_part_num(st1,sub_type2)> <dtml-var st1>st1<dtml-var sub_type2>st2 <dtml-var expr="pn==st1+sub_type2"> <dtml-var pn> pn </dtml-let> </form> I call a python script concat_sub_type_to_part_num and pass two of the menu selections in this test. I tried to concat there but no luck. Q: filtering search results by checkPermission?

Hi, I'm trying to filter a search results list to remove documents which the current user doesn't have permission to view. I wrote a python script which tries to do just that. I call checkPermission('View', x.absolute_url) for every element in a doFormSearch result list, but it doesn't quite work.
