Passing variables from Python

Hi, I must be blind in one and can't see out the other. Can anyone point me to a reference or example how dtml doc receive a new variable from python. <dtml-let pn="''"> <dtml-call concat_sub_type_to_part_num(st1,sub_type2,pn)> <dtml-var st1>st1<dtml-var sub_type2>st2 <dtml-var pn> pn </dtml-let> The script is as suggested by Kevin # Example code: # Import a standard function, and get the HTML request and response objects. pn = "%s%s" % (st1, sub_type2) return pn When I test the variable "pn" I see the results I am looking for by in the DMTL doc it is blank. OpenOffice-Doc Import (zipped xml Import)

Hi, I just experimented a bit with OpenOffice1.0 documents to import into Zope. With zipfolder it is possible to unpack the packed xml-files. But they are stored as file-metatype documents like "content.xml" etc. and it is not possible to open them. If the extension is changed to "content.txt" its possible to view the raw text-content without the xml-tags. Does anybody know a simple solution to import zipped xml-files and keep the structure, tags and maybe filter unnecessary tags and docdescriptions? This would be a nice way of importing content into zope without dealing with html etc. Thanks for any hints, Elena

Hello zopisti! I have a little problem... I want customize the metadata_edit_form: the input of the effective date and the expire date should be inserted by a user in the form dd/mm/yyyy and NOT yyyy/mm/dd . There is a solution?? Massi

Hi ! I'm new on the list and I'm also new in zope. It is also my first time trying to get help from any mailing list. I'm trying to set up a dynamic page using zope and firebird and I'm stuck! So far I managed to set-up everything by my self. I get pcgi error when I'm trying to insert simple data into table. Is there anyone who can help? Thanks Ivan

Hi, I found SLiP some days ago. It is a shorthand syntax/editor for XML or XML-like data and the translator is written in python. Just search for it in the web. Hope it helps? Search ZCatalog from Python code

I've been trying to find documentation on how to search the ZCatalog from within a Zope product but there is a lack of documentation on that. Can this be done? If this is the case, how can external python products 'see' the context and container objects? Could there be an alternative solution based on the creation of a Python Script inside Zope (thus binding the context-container) and then calling it from the Product code? Hello I have installed Worldpilot on Zope 2.5.0 on Linux. Overall, it is pretty much working. My question is: does anyone know if it will continue to be maintained? If not, is there another product that matches worldpilot's features and nice interface? -- Roger Oberholtzer
