persistence of unpicklable objects

Is there any easy way to make unpicklable objects created by a python product, persist across product refreshes? When a product is refreshed, it appears that every object the product provides gets re-instantiated - I'm having trouble finding somewhere to stash a reference to the unpicklable object (lists used to communicate with an extra thread holding another object - long story) that doesn't get trashed by a product refresh. XML-RPC and cyrillic text in CP1251 and UTF-8

Currently I'm creating Control Panel for Zope site using Microsoft C#.NET which makes programs speaking in native 2-byte Unicode. Also I am using XMLRPC library for C#.NET which seem to function almost properly (almost or I haven't understood something). The problems are: 1. Zope doesn't accept single parametered function calls, only zero or two or more, single parameter calls always fail. 2. Zope doesn't like UTF8-encoded XML request with parameter values containing cyrillic text, I always get failure response from server, but Zope likes UTF8-encoded response and passes its content correctly back to my program. 3. Empty (string "") return value wasn't correctly recognised by XMLRPC library (this is not Zope issue) Workarounds found were: 1. Use second dummy parameter 2. Pack UTF8 cyrillic strings with BASE64 and unpack in receiving Zope method using base64 module and then decode to 1-byte CP1251 encoding using "encodings" module. 3. Use special response string value like "empty" or "none" which means "none" ;) The question is: Are there more straightforward methods to fix this or workarounds found are ok?

Header Problem w/t Zope/Apache/PHP

G'day all, I have set up my vhost in apache with proxypass and the thing seems to work. because now when i hit the domain http://ludditerecords.com the browser try's to download a file. I then "telnet ludditerecords.com 80" and display header "GET / HTTP/1.1 Host: luddliterecords.com" this comes back that "Content-Type: application/x-httpd-php" this seems to be the problem. Is there a way to change this? or perhaps a way around it (Note:others on the server want php but not with zope) Thankies, Wayne

Yeah that's a thought. You should check out http://vsbabu.org/webdev/zopedev/ieeditor.html too, but the source is a bit more messy and I needed to adjust some things, so I prefer the other option. Zope as daemon, shows up with owner as root

I have Zope starting as a daemon, still inhibits further boot log messages after it starts, but it is starting. I notice that in the process list (KDE's kpm utility), it shows up as 'python' with the owner being 'root'. All the other zope processes show up with the owner being 'nobody'. Is this correct? Or will the launch script showing up as owned by 'root' create a security problem. thx
