Hi, I tried this for getting non ASCII characters underlined (...) in structured text on my FreeBSD box. http://www.zope.org/Members/ajung/howto/Locale%20Support%20for%20Structured% 20Text/ So I changed the start script with this... export LC_ALL=fr_FR and added ' -L "" ' in the z2.py options. Is there an easy way to bind the attributes of an object into the parameters of a zsql method? odd slowness in '/manage' in ZMI

hello - We recently went production with a high availability zope based cluster of machines for our website. On the front end there is an apache logging server, rewriting requests to a pair of squid caches. The caches in turn rewrite requests to pair of ZEO App servers for authoritative content. The app servers are dual homed onto a private network where The ZEO Database lives. On the backend there is a management server ( Apache and a ZEO Application server) that is used for administration of the content. We also currently have a second 'cluster' consisting of a ZEO DB server and a management server for testing purposes. Since about a week ago we started experiencing excessive delays in accessing the Zope Management Interface on both of the clusters. Accessing the main website is still quick as ever. The delays are happening only in the ZMI and are mostly assosiated with the manage_menu. Nothing was changed on our production cluster save content. Howdy, I've stared at the doc for some time, the answer isn't appearing. My gateway currently uses ipmasqadm portfw to change incoming http requests to zope_server:8080 For local use, I have TUTOS running on port 80, served by Apache. (http://www.tutos.org/homepage/index.html - amazingly wonderful) I'd like to be able to access TUTOS from the world. Can I configure Zope to forward TUTOS requests to http://myserver:80/TUTOS? It seems you can set up REQUEST or session variables which can then be accessed in the method... It was great... really easy to setup and the dtml method thingy works really well. One more ques... do I have to create a chart object for every chart I want to plot?? for e.g. I use it make a chart for a poll on my site. Now I have a PyScript that extracts data from a MySQL db, formats it in the form required by gdchart and returns the data to it. In the PyScript I had to hardcode the source (the currently active poll). Is there any way to pass the dtml_methods "getDtmlData" <http://66.121.5.70:8080/nbs_online/polls/result_chart/getDtmlData/manage_wo…> any parameters like poll_id so my PyScript can automagically get the data for that poll from the db?? Creating a ZClass which includes Image base class

Can someone provide a newbie with a road-map for accomplishing the following task? I'm at the bottom of the learning curve looking far, far up. My goal is to be able to: go into the ZMI and add a "WebArticle". A WebArticle object contains the text and images for a complete print-magazine-style Web feature. It most importantly contains: - Headline - Deck (sub-headline text) - Body copy (the main text of the article) - Large Image (to accompany the article) - Small Image (to accompany "teasers" for the article) The full WebArticle will serve as the main content for a Web page, and I hope to use a subset of the Headline, Deck, and Small Image on the site's front page in a listing of available articles. Where I'm currently stumped is how to create a ZClass for the WebArticle which, upon instantiation, accepts the above text fields as well as enables the upload of the images. (I'm not afraid of trying to create a Python class, I've had some OO programming classes in C++. But if Python classes are not for steaming newbies, forget it.) I know I'm missing something big, but here's how far I've gotten: I've created a Zope product, and within it created a ZClass including a Zope Image base class. I created a property sheet that includes the text fields, added a View to the class which accesses the property sheet. (Basically, I've followed The Zope Book: Extending Zope chapter on Creating a ZClass). When I instantiate a WebArticle, it accepts an ID, but when I click Add, I get a "File not found" error. Further, I have no idea how the Image Upload functionality will come in. I'm not necessarily asking for step-by-step hand-holding or exact code, but I need some direction on how to create this object / functionality. I realize that I don't understand how Zope works. If my proposed solution for my goal is off-target, please let me know! I greatly appreciate any time you can take to help a newbie get a toe-hold on this great big thing called Zope.
