File uploading

Hallo, I have 2 forms in my CMF site (but I suppose that is not a problem). Both of them have <input name="image_file" type="file" > field. I try to get the file name to add a file(image) with proper id. When I access str(REQUEST.image_file) in my python script one time I get the full path to the file and the second time: <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 020CF314> The first one is better for me for explained reason but the files seem not to be uploading. So it is probably just a name not a file. The first question is where is the difference? It's probably in the code but I can't find it. I don't know much about HTTP protocol but the first thing to check was the type of forms - both are "POST" type. And the second - how to extract the name of the file and have it uploaded in the same time? Pawel Lewicki

Currently I need a /usr/local/zope/2.5.1/var directory for my zope instance to start so zope has somewhere to put pcgi.pid and pcgi.soc, with out this otherwise empty "var" directory I get the "ZServer Cannot write PID file" error. I have looked into this more and found that the Zope.cgi has all the paths hard coded in it, I assume this is form the install.sh when first run. I have deleted Zope.cgi since I'm not using cgi and it has solved my problems. If you are just displaying the data (as with dtml-var), you do not really have to convert it into an integer anyway. This would avoid the problem. If you need to do some formatting, you ought to be able to do it with a formatting string rather than trying to convert to in integer. Also, once you work out what you want to do, you will want to use null="N/A", since the argument of null must be a string. Cheers, Tom P

using expr inside sendmail

Hi, Assume A=5, B=3, and C=2. when I use this expression outside of the <dtml-sendmail> tag then I get a Total="10" Total = <dtml-var expr="A+B+C"> But when i use the above expression inside of <dtml-sendmail> </dtml-sendmail> I get the value of A,B,and C (5 3 2) I just want to send out the grand total of A,B, and C. Question about dtml-var, "null=", and data types

Hello, I have a tag as such: <dtml-var DMT_S_E null=N/A> DMT_S_E is a variable that comes from a SQL Method with a PostgreSQL backend. DMT_S_E is of pgsql data-type "float8". Yet, for some reason, when I do <dtml-var "_.int(DMT_S_E)" null=N/A>, I get an error about not being able to convert it to int. This is where the value is null, and therefore "N/A" gets displayed. So, does this mean that the "null" value has to be of the same data-type as the variable itself? If so, this isn't documented in the DTML Reference. I don't want to use "0" (Zero) as this would not be accurate. Is there an easy alternative, or am I going to have to use an if-then statement? RE: [Zope] PCGI and WebDAV?

I did most searching with results on Google. I didn't find anything in the list archives. After pages and pages of browsing on it, I found a page noting that Apache wants to take over the WebDAV requests. It also stated that there is a workaround, but didn't state what or where it is. I found the mod_cgi patch here: http://www.zope.org/Members/Brian/Misc/mod_cgi_webdav_patch.html I have been unable to apply the patch to the mod_cgi.c file. I am not a C++ programmer, but I am guessing it's because I have Apache 2.0.39 and the patch was dated from 1999 on an older version of mod_cgi. OR, maybe because I am doing this all in Windows. I read the Apache docs, searching for anything with directives pertaining to the HTTP OPTIONS problem with mod_cgi as described in the link above. I didn't find any new options or patches. Apache(on Win32) is doing NTLM authentication for me. Zope(on Win32)is setup in REMOTE_USER mode with the access file in the server root. The user accounts now have no passwords because of that. I like the way it works on my Intranet. My users can open there browser and I know who they are based on there windows logon. (This works great since we all have Win2000) It appears that since Apache is doing the authentication, then Zope has no way of knowing who I am if accessed directly, so I can't just bypass Apache. I will continue to search, and will include the Apache lists as well. If you have any ideas to get WebDAV working through Apache or could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. SQL prob on SAPDB

Hi! I need to copy the data from one table to another, on my SAPDB database. If I where working with a SQL Server DB I would run the following query: INSERT INTO TableB (fieldB1, fieldB2) SELECT fieldA1, fieldA2 FROM TableA ORDER BY fieldA1 But it seems that it doesn't work on SAPD, since it returned me the following error message: Database error occured: Native error: -5015 Text: [SAP AG][SQLOD32 DLL][SAP DB]Syntax error or access violation;-5015 POS(191) Missing keyword:GROUP,OR,MOD,HAVING,DIV,AND,UPDATE,UNION,REJECT,INTER. I'm building a product called mcp: music control program: it will be front end to my shoutcast server and my audiotron. \Initially, I created a zclass called cdclass, but it seems to me I might want to have classes for: artist, title (where title is more or less cdclass) and track. In looking at the book class in the zopebook, analogously, there should be author and publisher classes. I understand they were trying to keep it very simple. can antone give me any pointers on how you'd go about this?
