Just a FYI, you could always create a 'page template' that contains the following: <span tal:repeat="item here/getstatistics"><span tal:replace="item/stat1">stat1 goes here</span>,</span> Then, just save the 'viewed' page template to a file. There is a "csv.py" module around for Python (from 2.3 in the Python core library; up to then separate). It allows you to read and write CSV. I was play with "only" appendics in dtml-with tag, but no success until I make Method2 Method2 (simplified) works as expected and render nothing: <dtml-with object1> <dtml-if "_.hasattr(aq_explicit, 'object2')"> <dtml-var object2> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> Does aq_explicit fail if is used with <dtml-try> tags or I am weak? saving data to use in excel later - still a newby

I've designed an online form to track statistics (we were writing them down previously and then someone would have to go through them) Id like the form (on submit) to save the data (probably through calling a python script) collected in a format (text file) that I can then export to an excel file. Can someone point me to an example. My problem is, i guess in the python script that updates and saves the new data. kate

Kate: If you build and HTML page with table containing the data you need (after your input form, with the usual DTML/HTML/TAL tools) then you can point MS Excel spreadsheet to the actual URL that would render that table in a normal web browser and it will import the data into it. There is nothing else to do. We use that technique to distribute reports to users who need some data in an spreadsheet, we just instruct them to open Excel and then "File->Open" and key in the assigned URL to that report page (like http://www.yourintranet.com/statistics/sales_report) you can even key in user name and password as Excel detects it is requested by the web server in case you have that page password protected (basic HTTP authentication only, I suspect) By the way, we use OpenOffice.org 1.0.3 / 1.1 to do the same thing and works great. We have succesfully tried this in the Excel 2000 and XP versions but no luck with Office 97 Excel. Hope this is useful, best regards. Zope newbie question - document version management?

I've just downloaded and started to experiment with Zope. Does the product support version control on uploaded files? The docs suggest it does, but I can't see a way of displaying a list of a document versions from the manager GUI.

Change URL after SQL statement execution?

Good Morning List. I am trying to do something very simple. I have three files: 1/An SQL statement that I pass parameters too 2/A form that I use to collect the parameters that are passed to the script 3/A Script that is called from the form to run the SQL statement 4/A Page Template >From my python script I call the SQL using: context.MySQLStatement(first_name=First, last_name=Last) It works fine with regards to running the SQL but if the resulting page is refreshed it runs the SQL again. How do I avoid this? If I cange the URL I figure it avoids this problem but dont know how to do this? Any help would be much appreciated, Kind Regards, Rob

Use ODBC to connect MySQL to Zope, rather than messing with the Zope native MySQLDA connector, which is somewhat challenging to get working on Windows. Then get the ZODBCDA Zope Product, untar, install as documented in Products, and restart Zope. The connector should show up on your object menu. Multi Language Image Banner Display sample code please

Hello, ZOPE-Users I would like to be able to not only generate different language content via the .po .mo files, (as I have briefly learned about via the online documentation), but also have my own different images (and ultimately title banners) appear with graphical text that is also in multiple different languages. Simply... I'm asking if you would please give a code example of how an image can also be multi-language dynamic with ZOPE. I wondered if it would be in the .po files that each image would simply have different code (or "<IMG SRC="s) or if one puts something like a <IMG SRC=/images/titles/mainPageTitle.jpg?language=fr>, or maybe a dynamic component is referenced that has it's own po+mo file, or .... something else? Please help me understand if this product is right for us, with an example that shows what one does in ZOPE to achieve this desired effect of multi-language banner/images.
