problems creating Python & Zope

Hi 2all I'm trying to build Python 2.3.2 on my new Apple Powerbook G4 but as you can see in the config.log file i receive a error when i do "./configure". I'm using the document fomr http://zope.org/Members/jens/docs/Document.2003-12-27.2431. Is there somebody out there who can help me on this. Because i can't find GNUTAR package i used OpenUp to unTar the source package. I moved then the directories to my user directory. On Windows no problems but now i want to use MAC regards, Dennis Mekel

iterating over different objects in a folder

Hi I've only just started with zope so I hope these are fairly simple questions... I want to be able to display all the documents, images, and files, in a folder in either date or ID order - (not as separate lists for each type). So: Is there an easy way to itterate over the contents of a folder, but returning a single, combined list of files, dtml documents and images? A bit like this... <dtml-in expr="objectValues('DTML Document'[or]'file'[or]'image')"> And if I can get such a list is there a way to test the items to see which type they are so I can display them (or, for files, links to them) appropriately? thanks, John Grey

Zope 2.7

Hi All, I got Zope 2.7 running (and Plone 2 - very nice :-) Thanks for your efforts, it's lovely. (I love the new install and zopectl) My question is: Can I now run several Zope sites on my test server on different ports and just copy the instance directory to my production server when they are ready? ExUserFolder - Login screen keeps appearing even in manager mode.

Hi guys, I am using exuserfolder 0.20.tgz which is v. 10.10 in my Zope management control panel. I have a fresh install of Zope and have not changed any Security settings. I created a folder /Toy at / Folder and a sub-folder /Toy/files. I added a index_html file in /Toy/files. Lastly I added a userFolder( acl_users ) at /Toy. / Toy files index.html acl_users The bizarre thing is whenever i clicked on Toy folder or beneath. I will be prompted a login screen ( docLogin ) and I can only login using my present manager account/password after the second attempt. After subsequent clicks @ /Toy and below result in the same process. I have tried loggin out and back on. The manager permssions in / folder are all checked except for TakeOwnership ( I did not touch any permssions as mentioned above). The persisent appearing of login screen should not happen. date formats

Hi all ! . can't get rid off my dates problems .. I would like the following python statements to apply validity checks on a date always inputed under format YYYY / MM / DD (GMT+1) The 2 first examples behaves as expected. The last one not. try: date=DateTime('2003/07/03') print date.strftime("%Y %B %d") except: print 'error' return printed 2003 July 03 (OK) try: date=DateTime('2003/03/07') print date.strftime("%Y %B %d") except: print 'error' return printed 2003 March 07 (OK) try: date=DateTime('2003/13/03') print date.strftime("%Y %B %d") except: print 'error' return printed 2003 March 13 (NOK) While I'm expecting an error (no months with id 13 !!!) it reverses the month part and the day part !! Why ?? Is that the normal behaviour ?? Or is there any parameter to provide so that python knows the format is always YYYY / MM / DD (the setup: Windows 2000 server Zope 2.6.2 python 2.1 ) Thanks for any help ! Phil.

Well...it seem that it doesn't matter what username and PW i login, i can be granted entry. But this shouldn't be the case right. Another stupid question

Once again, I'm forced to ask a simple question that everyone probably knows the answer to but that I can't seem to figure out from any of my multiple books or online resources. I need to leave a semi-permanent cookie to store my options. I'm doing it from within and External Method. I've tried a number of things but nothing seems to work. I'm not sure what the format is supposed to be. The Zope Book documents the function like as "setCookie(name, value, **kw)" but doesn't tell me anything about what "**kw" is. The Zope Bible looks like it just copied the definition from The Zope Book. My other books say nothing on the subject. I tried this (going from an example I found on a Google search); response = REQUEST.RESPONSE response.setCookie('ISOptions', 'Value=%s' % Writedict(d), expires='Wed Feb 2020 14:28:00 GMT') But it doesn't work. The cookie is there with the options set correctly but my cookie manager says that it expires at the end of the session and after the session ends, the cookie goes away. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

passing script parameters - newbie question

I have a Python script that takes a parameter 'fileid' which is a file id. I need to call the getProperty() method via something like this: container.fileid.getProperty('prop') This does not work (I get an Attribute Error). Can anyone help? Paul
