Announcement of the 2003 Python UK Conference ============================================= The UK Python conference 2003 will take place in Oxford, on Wednesday April 2nd and Thursday 3rd. Speakers including the Python language founder Guido van Rossum, who will deliver the keynote speech. The conference will be held in the pleasant surroundings of Holiday Inn Oxford Pear Tree Roundabout, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 8JD www.holiday-inn.co.uk We are very excited to be working once again with the ACCU to bring the UK Python conference to life. The conference last year was a big success with all attendees, and we hope to repeat that success with a bigger and better line up of speakers, including the Python language founder Guido van Rossum, who will deliver the keynote on Wednesday 2nd April. Other speakers include: Alex Martelli, Andy Todd, Andy Robinson, Anthony Eden, Chris Withers, Duncan Booth, Duncan Grisby, Greg Colvin, Hamish Lawson, Jacob Hallén, Marc-André Lemburg, and Paul Brian. As a taster of the conference we have conducted a series of short interviews with Python luminaries including Guido van Rossum and Eric Raymond. Hi, I installed this product and it seems to fit my needs. Zope install process on Sun box with Solaris installed

I installed Zope 2.5 on a Sun Sparc 10 with dual processors, Solaris 8 installed and it was dog slow. I have 2 questions: 1. What is the minimum size Sun box Zope will perform adequately on? 2. Are the directions to install Zope on a Sun box with solaris installed correct or is there a different install process that needs to be followed? Mailhost problem

I have been using the mailhost send API call to send email. I found that you cant use the character ':' (colon) in the body of the message or else the behaviour is wierd. ie email that it sends out has nothing in the subject and other fields and they are inserted in the body of the message. For eg: context.mailhost.send(messageText='test : doda\n', mto=<email>, mfrom='email', subject='test') sends in a email like this: test : doda To: aseem(a)neurobs.com From: webmaster(a)neurobs.com Date: Thu, 20 Mar 2003 15:09:59 -0800 Anybody else see this behavior?? Are there any other characters that can cause this knid of behavior and need to be filtered out?? Unable to Pack zope Database

Over that last few days I have been unable to pack the zope database. I get an error message saying "CorruptedTansactionError". Also when I view undo transactions I have hundreds of transactions by "Anonymous User" on my main index_html every few minutes. Can anyone tell me what is happening and what I need to do. ZopeTime error

Hi all, I'm still bothered with the misbehaving ZopeTime object. If you could give me further debugging tips i would be very thankful. The story: I upgraded to 2.6.1 and ZWiki-0.16 and everthing worked well. After a certain time i get ZopeTime errors, the server is running from the beginning. I reproduced these errors with a brandnew installation of 2.6.1 and as the only product ZWiki. publishing external files

localfs, how to secure for homedirs...

Hi all, I want to implement localfs to give users remote access to their home directories. I want to create a localfs object per user. How can I secure this, so a given user can only see his own stuff and prevent the others for accessing it? Are roles the answers? Francois
