Yet another Zcatalog question--PrincipiaSearchSource

Right now we've got our main Catalog storing only information about a Zclass, and it's only got one ZCTextindex--on PrincipiaSearchSource. I'd like people to be able to search the title AND the PrincipiaSearchSource at the same time--in other words, have both indexed. Is there a way to index both in the same ZCTextIndex so I don't have to keep two text indexes and combine searches into both? I'm thinking of trying to index some sort of method inside the Zclass that combines the two, but I can't seem to figure out what that method should look like--how do I say "concatenate title and data into a single piece of data that can be indexed"? And now to complicate things even more... Say I want to mix it up a bit and include pictures in my search. Our pictures have a property called Cutline that would need to be indexed. Could we trick the Catalog into also indexing Cutline in the same TextIndex? Or am I just talking crazy now? Thanks--Chris

Best approach for SOAP

Hi all: What's the best approach to offer services using SOAP? I have read about the Petru Paler patch (http://www.ppetru.net/software/soap-cvs.diff) and about ZSI. If I go by the way of ZSI, I need to implement an XML-RPC <-> SOAP gateway? Can anybody help me?

wysiwyg editor?

Hi! I notice the plone_wysiwyg in portal_skins. It seems the plone has WYSIWYG Editor inside. How to configure it to make it visible when we cope with Document in html format? I had install the WYSIWYG Editor before, but don't know how to cope it in plone. Any idea? what advantage does zope has over apache (help)

I am prtty good in apache, but have a little bot knowlege about zope. Can somebody tell me what advantabes does zope have over apache. or point to me some article comparing zope to apache? Formatting Forms

Hi, All- What resources are available to help me learn to format forms using dtml? I'd like to group certain fields together (Name, Address, etc.), as well as line fields up vertically and horizontally. Ideally, I'd like reference documentation with examples. Thanks! --greg

Apache's strength is that it serves static content reliably and at high volumes. It is also quite good at handing off requests to other systems. By itself, Apache doesn't really have any programming framework... though you can certainly load in stuff like PHP. If you think about Apache that way, Zope isn't really a replacement for Apache. Think of Zope as a replacement for PHP/ASP/JSP. Zope is a full-featured app framework, as opposed to a file-oriented scripting language. Zope is highly object oriented and provides security that is strong, flexible *and* intuitive. And you can program it in Python, which is its own reward. :-) Though it's possible to run Zope *instead* of Apache, it's quite common to run Apache as a reverse proxy for Zope. Both systems can serve HTTP requests, but they really aren't in competition with each other. I'd encourage you to look at Zope knowing that you will still be able to leverage your knowledge of Apache. IE 5.5+ and login problems

Hi, I am using a custom user folder that authenticates users off a mysql db and is essentially a modified version of the mysqluserfolder product to allow some custom functionality that we needed. It also uses the CookieCrumbler product to provide login forms. The problem we are facing seems to manifest itself only in the IE 5.5+ browsers. We have been unable to reproduce it on Netscape or Mozilla or Opera. Evidently if a user logs in and logs out quickly and repeatedly, one out of four times the login fails even if the password is correct. The next time around though it the login attempt gets through. It happens quite randomly but about 25% of the time, only when a user logs in and logs out and logs back in again within a relatively short interval. Has anobody else experienced this problem?? Are there any workarounds at all?? I have always created a SearchableTextWeighted method and corresponding index. Important textual metadata is printed multiple times, with body text printed once. It is a crude way to combine into a single buffer multiple fields and weight some fields heavier than others (by repeating the field values). You could, using this mechanism take a news story lead and headlines and print them multiple times, with the body of a story being printed once, which makes searches weight those fields more for purposes of relevancy. This is a pretty decent hack, but is a hack nonetheless.
