Zope 2.6 & ZCTextIndex Help?

I am currently running Zope 2.44, Python 2.13, and Apache 1.3.22 on a RedHat 8 server which is pretty stable. I need to upgrade to at least 2.6 to take advantage of ZCTextIndex, as I want to have the ability to do exact phrase searches. Also, any pointers as to how to reindex after installing would be appreciated. What is the most stable combination of Zope 2.6/Python/Apache? Zope2.6.1 and python2.2.2

Hello, zope users! Does anybody have any objections to running Zope2.6.1 with python 2.2.2 instead of python2.1.3? Can this cause troubles? I need to use pyuno, but it's latest release works and builds with python2.2.2, so i want to know if it's OK to use zope 2.6.1with python2.2.2 and there are no side effects of using them. Obviously, I start ZServer from a batch script, and don't use the service. The procedure makes a backup of the data and the log each time the service is started. You may end up with a lot of LARGE backup files. I usually use the 200* wildcard on files to automate the archiving/deleting of these files, but in a separate script. Extracting query string parameters from a URL

Hello. Does anyone know how to extract query string parameters from a URL? I am trying to limit access of a DTML page to users who have a particular user name and id. Users who try to access this page have to enter something of the sort: http://localhost:8080/somepage.html?user_name=someuser+userid=djje Is there someway to access the values associated with username and userid in the URL above? Updating Database Records

Hello. Does anyone know whether a Z SQL method has the permission to make modifications to already existing data by using the SQL update command. I am calling a Z SQL method that attempts to do this from a DTML method that has a proxy role of 'manager'. However, when this Z SQL method is called, Zope flags me with an error saying that I am "Unauthorized". Now, when I call another Z SQL method from this same DTML method that inserts records into the same database, everything works fine. External Editor and Connection Lost with Open Office

Hi, I have tried Extenal Editor 0.5 with PDF files without problems. Open Office 1.0.2 under windows 2000 gives the "FATAL ERROR: Editor did not launch properly. External Editor lost connection to editor process." Soffice.exe -o local/path/to.file Any idea of what can be wrong? TIA

Hi All. I started playing with VHM, but I have some problem. This is my apache configuration. When I send this request http://www1.antonella.it I obtain the index_html object present in the www1 folder <dtml-var standard_html_header>  <p> l'home page </p> <p><a href="ciao">Ciao a tutti<a></p> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> Ok, but when I click on ciao (it exist) I obtain nothing more then a refresh of index_html. Logging a User Out

I'm up to my elbows in ripping apart the ZMI to find the code, and its another basic idea, so I thought I'd throw it out to the list. How can I programatically (Python/Page Templates) clear the login information from the browser? That is - log someone out. Setting up the permisions with the LDAP users was straightforward, but at the moment all I can do is detect the lack of permissions and say "Access Unauthorized". The only way to switch users is to open a new browser. This, of course, is immature and - if you'll excuse the colloquialism - sucks hard. So I'd like to offer a button that says "Log me out". Amusingly, the Security chapter of The Zope Book does not seem to cover this. Maybe it shouldn't and I'm just easily amused. Thanks, Ed
