Is It Possible to Set a Folder's Properties Using DTML?

I would like to be able to modify the value of a folder's property any time I access a dtml-method over the web. However, I do not see any dtml tag which will set a folder's property. <dtml-let> inserts a new variable into the namespace but does not set a property. I just built a python script called url_quote (in my 'code' folder) and called it like so from dtml: <dtml-var "webClient('http://192.168.0.1/getSqlResults?query=' + code.url_quote(querystring))"> The script: (with Parameter List having the parameter 'astring') # Import a standard function from Products.PythonScripts.standard import url_quote_plus # Return a string suitable for URL's. return "%s" % url_quote_plus(astring) Ok .. this should be really easy but it's driving me nuts. How to I set an attribute on a variable when it's being rendered inside of a function? Here's what I mean: <dtml-var "webClient('http://192.168.0.1/getSqlResults?query=' + querystring)"> I need to have the variable querystring render with url_quote_plus, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to set it. Single authentication for several servers

Hi, I'd like to setup this environment : - I have a first site, handled by Zope, behind an Apache server and rewrite rules. Authentication on this server is done throught an LDAP server with LDAPUserFolder. - I have a second site on a different server, handled by Apache+PHP. Authentication on this server is done throught the same LDAP server, so with the same login/password, throught mod_ldap. My problem is that when I switch from the first server to the second, I'd like to avoid a second authentication. So my idea was to access to server2 throught "http://www.site1.com/site2", with Apache handling a new rewrite rule in proxy mode. Do you think that it should work (I can't test easilly before asking you !!) ?? Of course : - I don't have any SSO solution ; - I can't rebuild my PHP application with Zope before several months :-(( (but I can update scripts to take the new access path into account). Python-only products just need to be untarred to work, products that need compilation are a real pain. If I was commited to using Redhat for some reason, I would be required to modify spec files and build my own rpms for compiled DA's. I would actually rather use Gentoo, but for other distributions it's still harder than it needs to be and may prevent people from using Zope.

I am pleased to announce the release of TextIndexNG 1.09 TextIndexNG is a new pluggable index for the ZCatalog and is the most feature complete solution for fulltext inexing under Zope. TextIndexNG enhances the fulltext indexing capabilities of Zope by providing the following features: * support for document converters (HTML, PDF, WinWord, PowerPoint, Postscript). Custom converters can be easily added * stemmer support for 12 languages * optional support for right truncation * similarity search (soundex, metaphone support) (for English) * NEAR search * phrase search * pluggable query parsers (two parsers included) * stop words support * new test tab for interactive testing * faster than Zopes old TextIndex * full unicode support (new) * normalization support (new) * new similarity algorithm: double metaphone (new) * new TXNGSplitter * new vocabulary browser Changes since 1.08: * apply_index() now uses the default encoding choosen for a TextIndexNG instead of iso-8859-15 (thanks to Myrosav Opyr) * lexicons and storages now used IITreeSets? instead of IISet?. This should reduce memory consumption of TextIndexNG instances. Existing instances running TextIndexNG should be reindexed. * getEntryForObject() now returns a sequence of all index worde instead of "XXX distinct words" (standard behaviour of all Zope indexes). * words removed from a reindexed documents were not properly removed for the word-doc storage (means you could search for removed words and got hits although the words was no longer inside the document). problem with superValues

Hi, Im trying to send an E-Mail within an external python script each time an object is edited. Therefor I use superValues to locate the MailHost object. mailhost=getattr(self, self.superValues('Mail Host')[0].id) If the object that sends the mail already exists anything goes fine. But if the object is edited for the first time (via the __init__ procedure that calls the edit procedure) superValues can't find the MailHost object (IndexError: list index out of range). dynamically generated TAL not being interpreted

We have a script that generates TAL. The problem is that the content is not being interpeted as TAL by Zope, but rather as raw HTML. A search through the mailing lists archives found a posting from last September where someone was trying to do something similar. According to one of the replies, the HTML is supposed to have the TAL namespace declaration, so I changed my code to produce something like this at the top: <html xmlns:tal="http://xml.zope.org/namespaces/tal" metal:use-macro="here/main_template/macros/master"> But the problem persists. VHM and SSL problems

I have a ZServer behind Apache 2.0 setup running for quite some time now. Today morning the Secure portion just stopped working. The rewrite entry in my ssl.conf file is: http://191.168.10.172:8080/VirtualHostBase/https/nbs.neuro-bs.com:443/nbs_o… which for all purposes is valid. Any ideas?? I'm using Zope 2.44, Python 2.13 and Apache 1.3.22 as recommended by Dieter, and everything is working fine. I would like to upgrade Zope to be able to use ZCTextIndex to enable exact phrase searching and was wondering what versions of each to get. by the way, please do not cross-post to several lists. i am restricting this to the zope list because it is more appropriate. i don't think you will have any success tring to "use" user folder methods that have to do with authentication outside of the user folder itself, period. from your description it sounds like all you need is a user folder implementation that handles cookies. i suggest you investigate the CookieCrumbler product (if you are married to your specific user folder, that is) or you use a user folder that has cookie hanling built in. i'm not sure what that "dont want to use any products that does not come with a clean Zope install" is all about. most zope products install by dropping them in the Products folder of either your instance or in the zope software tree. it doesn't get any cleaner than that. jens On Saturday, Mar 8, 2003, at 12:30 US/Eastern, Sondre Rønjom wrote: > > I'm creating a python product - which needs to be authenticated; and I > dont want to use any products that does not come with a clean Zope > install > - so I user Simple User Folder and define two roles admin user and > ordinary user.
