What would you like to see in Europython 2003 (June 25-27)?

Europython in Charleroi was fun last year and we want to make sure that this year we can make even more better conference for all of us. I'm responsible with Paul Everitt for managing the Zope Track and currently creating the program. We currently have talks Plone and Zope 3, but would naturally like to get everyone's thoughts on what subjects would be interesting -- and what would you like to hear or see. And naturally if you have a cool ideas and would like to come and make presentations, you can respond about your ideas and write a proposal. And for people outside Europe, have you concidered spending your summer vacation in beautiful Europe? It could be the right time to see Paris and Brussels, and spend a few days in Charleroi. http://www.europython.org/ -huima

View Product and icons

I created a product then created an instance of that product in a folder. When I clicked on the product it showed up perfectly with the associated icons. I then created a dtml document with a link to the product, <a href="ProductName"><Produc</a>, the product displayed but not the icons until I clicked the icon holders and the product refreshed. When I used the same document to creat a referne to the product, <dtml-var ProductName> I simply got a refernce to the product and not the actual product itsel like you would get if you referenced a document in that manner. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there some calling method I'm not aware of. Obviously, Zope know how to call the product because when I click on it directly it displays perfectly. Any help would be greatly apppreciated.

1/ I think that is no way while you modify zope source code for that. But it could be possible another way: imagine URI as that www.domain.com/mod_speling?url=folder1/folder2/document instead of www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/document The DTML method mod_speling will track your "url" option. 2/ I have no squid before, but it is possible to use. Squishdot corruption

I love Squishdot, but some bad things happen to me when I cannot afford them: 1. Sometimes my squisdot site gets corrupted while it still has very little data in it (2/3 messages). 2. I get key- errors. Error Type: KeyError Error Value: 1050484569 This has happened to me a few times and I cannot figure out if it is a bug in the code or an external attack that corrupted the db. Is there a way to delete message without trying to render or find them? How does one manage the zope database if you cannot browse the data in it? This is mainly an issue with products I guess because sites that you create yourself you can browse through with the browser? Thanks, Pieter

CookieCrumbler Question

Hi, I use a cookiecrubler with my user folder to authenticate users on our site. I would like to put the login_form and logging_in pages in the https domain. Our regular domain is www.domain.com and I want to use rewrite rules so that if - a user types in http://www.domain.com - they get redirected to https://www.domain.com - then get posted out to https://www.domain.com/logging_in which - then redirects to either insecure pages or secure pages depending on came_from The location of the pages doesnt change. Reload ExtFile-Objects fails

Hello, we use Apache and pcgi-wrapper to zserver. The Request is visible in the Z2.log but the browser (IE, Netscape, Mozilla) cannot load the page every second time (The first load is ok, the reload is broken, the second reload gives the page). After the timeout the File that "comes back" seems to be 0 Bytes in size. I cannot reproduce this behavior with lynx ctrl-R :-(. Reloading the Extfile objects directly from the zserver seems to work fine. Please hint me to points where I can obtain further information, especially how to debug the connection back from zserver to pcgi-wrapper to apache to browser. Here is an example. Apache 1.3 v. apache 2x front end for zope?

PIL and Zope product

I am trying to use PIL(Python Imaging Library) to draw some images. When I run the code from within Zope I get this error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: 'ImageFile' module has no attribute '_save' When run from normal Python it creates the image just fine. Cheers, Jeroen

A good integration direction of IIS 5 Windows 2000 and Zope?

I have the mapping set up. When I access http://localhost/CGI-Bin/Zope.pcgi I get the intro page for logging in to the manager. But when I click that link Zope Management Interface I get http://localhost/CGI-Bin/manage and there is no manage subfolder in CGI-Bin Page Not Found. Also you know the little picture that occurs at the bottom? Well that jpg does not display and it's because it (IE) is looking for the pic here http://localhost/CGI-Bin/zope.pcgi/p_/ZopeButton.jpg So I am definitely not configured corresctly.
