Newbie - passing a list to an External Method

I am attempting to pass a simple list of strings (say mylines=['line 1','line 2','line 3'], generated by a Python Script) into an External Method, so calling it in a dtml-method: <dtml-let filename="myExternalMethod(fileID='myFileName.pdf',lines=mylines)"> This external method then uses the contents of this list, and returns a filename. The External Method is accepting parameters, and indeed seems to be accepting the list - if I change the method to return lines, and print that on screen (call dtml-var... instead of let filename=...), it prints ['line 1','line 2','line 3']. I have tried several things, but nothing seems to work. This seems to work fine if the list is declared inside the External Method, but not if it is passed to it. Is this a feature of Zope, or of my inability? Either way, how can I get around it? Caching prob with headers or reverse proxy?

Hi there, I have set up an Apache as reverse proxy and it works fine so far. The actual problem is that I only get "image"s to cache, no pagelike items... Now I have tail -f on both the zope.log and the apache.log and access things with lynx -mime_header [-reload] to check the header and caching ability. If I load an item of type "image" a few times I get this header HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 13:29:03 GMT Server: Zope/(Zope 2.6.1 (source release, python 2.1, linux2), python 2.2.2, linux2) ZServer/1.1b1 Last-Modified: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 13:07:21 GMT Content-Length: 3686456 Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Type: image/bmp Via: 1.1 wof1.desy.de (Apache/1.3.27) Age: 1237 X-Cache: HIT from wof1.desy.de Connection: close Voila! Delivered from my caching apache as I can also tell from the logs. Apache has a 200 and full content length and zope has no hit in the log at all. Now I try the same with a page template and I always get it fully delivered from zope. Bummer. IIS/Zope/Ports

Hi, If you have a setup as follows: IIS running on Port 80 and Zope running on Port 80, is it then possible to have the Zope managed interface running on port 8080? Any pointers? Thanks Mark

NameError when script called from product

Hi all, The product I am using (KebasData) has a property called render_method, which is the name of a dtml method that gets called from within the index_html of an instance, like so: <dtml-var "_[render_method]"> My render method is called viewResults and it calls a script (Python) called PageListOutput, which is described in the ZopeLabs recipe found at http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1019946889. Normally it is possible to display the rendered KebasData like so: http://mysite.org/kebasdata_instance which has always worked for me but not this time. What is strange, is that it works fine when called like so: http://mysite.org/kebasdata_instance/viewResults which, to my feeble understanding, should be no different.. Problem with CookieLess and FTP Access

I'm using the CookieLess Product 0.0.6b and it seems to work fine. But when I try to write via FTP in a CookieLess Folder, it just doesn't work. I get no error message from the FTP client and I see no error in the access log of the zope server. It just as tells me it did a STOR with the file I wanted to write the content to and 50 Opening Binary connection for admin_footer some_ip.25324821 ==> 226 Transfer complete. Everything seems ok, but the new content just doesn't get written for real. Nothing changes in the DTML-method I wanted to change. Do have to extend the CookieLess Product with some functionality to make enable ftp access for the methods in CookieLess objects? Any ideas? I'm using Zope 2.5.1 on RedHat 7.3 Thanks for your time, Dirk Höveler

I just solved a problem similar to that. First, when you log in with cookiecrumbler the cookie that is set is afaik persistent between http: and https:, that solves that, no need to log in twice. I found a way with cookiecrumbler that, no matter where or when the user needs to login, she will do so over SSL. What I did: - Assuming Apache in front of Zope, SSL running smoothly, actual versions of everything etc. :)) - Cookie Crumbler with forms into Zopes root - install SSLAbsoluteURL - add the attribute SSL=true to login_form - a small change to login_form <snip> action_url="came_from or 'logged_in'">  <form action="logged_in" method="POST"> </snip> Usually the form will redirect back to "came_from" but that is most likely an unsecured http:... adress! You would get the form via SSL, the post of usn/pwd would run over non-encrypted. The change to a hard-coded relative link to "logged_in" keeps the https: in front and the transmission secure :) "logged_in" then checks for "came_from" again and redirects there, changing back to http: if came_from says so. I'm not done completely yet but expect a howto about this setup sometime next week. As stated in my last posting this method is for testing purposes.
