Resouce not found can't be caught

Hi! The resource not found exception can't be caught. I tried the following: def unitTest(self, REQUEST): "docstring" try: self._unitTest(REQUEST) except: import traceback traceback.print_exc() But I get the meaningless page: """ Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Resource not found Sorry, the requested resource does not exist. Check the URL and try again. Resource: QWERTZUIOP GET """ Why is the exception in _unitTest not caught by my exception handler? I would like to have a stacktrace. Does UndoPack.pat from http://collector.zope.org/Zope/875 work with 2.5.1?

Hello all, I'm running zope-2.5.1 (Python-2.1.3, Linux) and just ran acroos the bug described in http://collector.zope.org/Zope/875. It says the patch works with 2.6.1. Is there a chance to apply it to 2.5.1? zope + apache + rewrite

Hello, zope users. I need help. i have apache + zope + VHM configuration: <VirtualHost www.is.lg.ua:5000> ServerName www.is.lg.ua RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://192.168.1.1:6080/VirtualHostBase/ http/www.is.lg.ua:5000/is/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [L,P] ProxyVia on </VirtualHost> In root of zope i have /is folder. All this works, but in apache /cgi-bin directory i have irc.cgi script and i need to call www.is.lg.ua:5000/chat so that www.is.lg.ua:5000/cgi-bin/irc.cgi will be called. I tried 'ScriptAlias /chat /cgi-bin/irc.cgi' inside VirtualHost, but that doesn't work, because all mapping goes to zope, so i need probably the rewrite rule, but dunno how to make it work. Maybe you can help me with that? Your help is very, very appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ruslan

Reverse Aquisition!

I know aquistion in Zope works it way up the tree until it reaches the root so you can embed one document in another when its higher up the tree. Is it possible to do this in reverse so that i can embed a document which is in a sub directory lower down the tree? Hope this makes sense! Thanks Mark Stangroom

Processing ZSQL results

Hi all, I should know this, but here goes anyway. I want to retrieve data from a table if an id that is submitted from a form is present. If I submit three id's, but only two are present in the table, two results are returned. I want to trap the missing id and display a "no data found" message. How can I do this? <table> <dtml-in getResults> <tr><td><dtml-var ID></td</tr> <dtml-else> <tr><td>No Data</td></tr> </dtml-in> This shows only the two results. ZRTChat content to external files?

Hi, I am using ZRTChat. This product, though very simple, really seems to work well. I've cleaned up the interface, and it may be viable in production. The only undesirable feature that I can see is that it fills up the ZODB with chat, that is, logs all chat messages internally to Zope. In a heavy chat situation, this would fill up Zope rather quickly. My question-- ZRTChat stores each chat message in a standard Zope folder object. Would it be possible to replace that folder with some sort of external file product that would allow these messages to be stored externally to Zope? What would that product be? I have used the ExtFile Product, but only to read files that are stored externally. I have no idea if it allows you to write external files. To all potential Zope chat product developers-- things I would like to see in future Zope chat products are threaded dialogs (each user displays as a different color), a list of who is available for chat, and private chat. Persistant session.

Greetings guys, We have a small demo site that we would like to record who vists and if they come back give a little message saying we know who they are and we welcome them back. To do this I am using Session. The thing is we want the data to be persistant so we are attempting to write the data out to a db. So we set the add/del to be two python scripts. our add one is something like this, args==item,container. <start> ZopeID = container.browser_id_manager.getBrowserId() records = container.sqlLstSession(zsession_key=ZopeID) if len(records) == 0: # Database hold no session row for this session # Create a new row for this session container.sqlInsSession(zsession_key=ZopeID) # Regardless of wether we just created the session row, or one existed already, update it with item container.sqlUpdSessionData(zsession_key=ZopeID, zsession_value=item) </end> Except when we call REQUEST.SESSION.set('test_item','test_value'), the data in the contents of the SESSION data structure contains no data, eg. demo=# select * from zsession_data; zsession_key | zsession_value ---------------------+-------------------------------------------------------------------- 76055663A0wuh14y-MQ | id: 10500762450365664153, token: 76055663A0wuh14y-MQ, contents: [] (1 row) Have we done something wrong in where we presume the update gets called?
