index_html always seems to exist

i have a python script doing the following: file = 'index_html' if not hasattr(context.aq_explicit, file): context.invokeFactory('Member Profile', id=file, title=file) in English: if the current folder does not have an object by the name of 'index_html', then generate a new 'Member Profile'. This works beautifully whenever file is set to something that's not 'index_html'; the file gets added if and only if there isn't one yet. However, in the case of index_html, it always seems to exist, even if there is no index_html in the current folder (and yes, I have verified that context is the right folder). What am I doing wrong? Zope, FTP, and Remote Access Alternatives

Hi. An increasing number of our associates are experiencing NAT related FTP issues with Zope. A second emerging problem is a requirement in some environments to use SSH/Secure FTP for server access. We have not had good results in surmounting these issues, sometimes passive FTP is a solution, sometimes not, moving one side out of the firewall is not an option usually, and we cannot open a large hole in our firewall to open a randomly chosen data port (assuming I'm understanding the problem correctly). SSH/SFTP only seems to add to the complexity. We have had mixed results with WebDAV. The external Editor product works great, it is difficult to convince our Dreamweaver-centric developers even to try it. Are these issues being considered in upcoming versions of Zope? What about alternatives to FTP file access? Also, why do these NAT- realated problems not seem to be issues with standard FTP servers like proftpd or the MS FTP server, which we use for our static websites? Many questions... Plone problem

Hello I have a little problem: the events don't appear in the calendar any more... I haven't modified files containing event or calendar in their names, neither the portal_calendar. Does someone have an idea?

Actually the thing is that if index_html isn't in the current folder, then zope will search it in the parent folder till it finds something (that's Acquisition). Usually all zopes have this file in the root folder by default, so zope will allways find something. As Dylan said, search "objectIds" in the help of your zope. It returns a list of the files in the current folder, so you could do something like: file='index_html' if not file in context.objectIds(): context.invokeFactory('Member Profile', id=file, title=file) Regards, Josef

Hi, I have this in a python script to copy/clone a folder. obj=container.template_folders.template_1 pag=context.manage_clone(obj,id) pag.manage_changeProperties(title=title) This works fine but here template_1 is hardcoded. submitting multi-checkbox

I'm trying to submit multi-checkbox (Formulator widget) values to a database using ZSQL. My database schema defines the fields as boolean; Formulator converts the values to a list of checked items, e.g. ['checked_item_one', 'checked_item_two']. Only checked items are added to the list. How can I map the formulator output to proper SQL? (a list of booleans) I have a couple of ideas, but I'm new to Zope and not sure what would be best, or even possible. Thanks Norman Lorrain
