Hello How do you check that zope is not hanged? My experience is that when zope doesn't respond anymore it's because all the threads are busy. zope stopp accept http requests

We have big problems with zope stopping to accept http-requests. Zope stalls after a few minutes of running, and we simply cannot determine the cause. It does'nt crash or hangs, it just stops accepting http requests. We have to stop it manually and start it again to continue, and then it will stopp responding after awhile again. The time between starting zope and the lack of response can vary with from 5 seconds to up to 10 minutes. Our zope lives behind apache with proxypass. When turning off apache zope does not hang, but this could be because of the lost traffic (since no one but those who uses the port 8080 directly reaches zope) Any ideas? The

Do While Loop Equivalent

Hi, I have been searching for a while but I am coming up empty. I am writing a module that needs to create a block of records in the db so they can be updated at a later time. In the good old days, I would use a do while loop (do something while x < 10). How can this be done? And as always any pointers will be appreciated, thanks. Filesystem Permissions for a Zope Install

Hey Guys, Got some angst about permissions on the server we have Zope installed on. Up to now, world has had read access to the entire Zope tree. We need to turn that off since there are users that can access this server that should not be allowed to peruse the Python code we've been writing. However, the only immediate alternative seems to be to add Apache to the "Zopeadmins" group we have, but that has read-write, and letting Apache have write is a potential security hazard. Can anyone with greater knowledge of the interaction of Zope and Apache tell me if I can be more selective about my permissions? And, more generally, how have other people solved these problems? Which Postgres is best for Zope/Plone on OS X, package or fink install?

Hello, I am using my OS-X iBook as a devlopment platform and I have recently installed the combination Plone/Zope install.. I'm hoping to use this install with Postgres, but there are several installation options.. There is a OS-X 'package' (which comes off the Postgres official site) and.. There is a Fink package (which is basically a OSX version of a Debian package) or.. I could insall Posgres from source.. The primary reason for installing Postgres is to use it with Zope, so ease of interfacing the two is my main concern, since I've had problems getting Psycopg to do this in the past.. Does anyone have any suggestions? -Chris
