ZOPE 2.6.2 Beta 2 Released Zope 2.6.2b2 represents a development step in the next Zope release formed with a large number of community contributions. You may download Zope 2.6.2b2 from Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.6.2b2/ Users of the Zope source release should note that Python 2.1.3 is now the required platform. Python 2.1.3 includes a fix to an issue that could cause crashes in Zope. Users who upgrade from source MUST RUN a make clean and make command to build the proper binaries correctly; distutils will skip compilation of the library modules needed for Zope and will cause errors if they are not up to date. I am going by old memories here, but I think you should name all your inputs the same, not with subscripts. Just name them all pbtemp. When the form is returned, pbtemp will be a list, and then it will work the way I sketched above. To avoid the possiblility that only one value would be returned (if the others were blank), you can force Zope to make the result a list by naming the input elements pbtemp:list. Cheers, Tom P

LFS vs. MySQL

In one of our sites we have HTML content that is stored and accessed from the local file system using the LFS product. We're re-engineering and I've gotten to wondering about the performance trade-off between serving the data from the local file system via LFS and storing and accessing it through MySQL. Has anyone done any sort of measurements/study? -d

I have a form with the following input statements: <input type="text" name="pbtemp[1]" size="6"> = 'aa' <input type="text" name="pbtemp[2]" size="6"> = 'bb' <input type="text" name="pbtemp[3]" size="6"> = 'cc' After the submit I can display the variables using this method: <dtml-var pbtemp[1]> <dtml-var pbtemp[2]> <dtml-var pbtemp[3]> I see aa bb cc I am trying to find a way to use this method but my syntax is wrong: <dtml-in expr="_.range(3)"> <dtml-var pbtemp[_['sequence-index']]> </dtml-in> I see the following error: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: pbtemp[_['sequence-index']] I have spent the morning googling around but the examples did not meet my needs after I tested them. Can this be done and if so how? Thanks.

Problems with Zope

Hello!! I've any problems about Zope Products. 1. Does any Zope product that allows to perform forums?. 2. Is that product able to (or allowed to): - Create Forums groups, defined groups in which a moderator and users are present, who are constantly joining the forum through an application form? - Is it possible to automaticly create the access a forum after a user signing in the web site?. 3. I installed the LoginManager in the folder that contains all the Zope Website files. When I run the scripts ./start and I use the Zope Management Interface, the LoginManager shows Broken product advice and then the traceback informs there is a line 541 error from the "Application.py" file. Where does this problem belong to?. Can this version be incompatible with the Zope version that I own? The alternative is Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server, which I wanted to avoid.... What is the cause for the Problem? sort on multiple columns with Catalog

Hi, I have a nice Catalog that sort pages on Field Scheduled (this is a number grouping pages together). Now I also want the results sorted on Id, probably some other time also on another Field. Can I do this with Catalog or should I write a script? Wim

Use of Client.py

Hi, i had got a problem today with lib/python/ZPublisher/Client.py. When it takes a file in the MultiPart function, it look only at the _extmap dictionary to calculate the mime-type. This one is small and there is no method to force the mime-type in that one is not in _extmap. Today i have just add 'application/zip', but i don't think it's the right way to do this.
