Webdav and winword

He folks, I try to create a folder in Zope for some folks with winword for shared documents. I thought we could use webdav to access those files and edit them... But each time I open a file from within winword vi the webdav port, winword opens the file in read-only mode. If I create a new file and save that multiple times, everything works fine. Sometimes I even can open the file in read-write mode and than suddently I can only open them read-only. I checked in "WebDAV Lock Manager" but the file is not locked. Any Ideas or hints for debugging ? Regards, Volker Wend

I do not see where you do that, and that is probably why the method does not know about the variable. Within the zsql method, you refer to the parameters by the names you gave them when you added them to the method definition. Also, in the outer code, pbtemp seems to be a dictionary, where as in the zsql method you are treating it as a simple scalar value. So when you do get wi working, in the future you may get confused by the name. I would suggest using a different name for that variable to avoid the confusion. Cheers, Tom P

Newbie: Location of External method files

Please excuse my ignorance as I am new to Zope. Is the Extensions folder in the Zope root directory the only place that Python external method files can be located? Or, can external methods be placed in the Extensions folder of a Product (so that they are only visible within the scope of that Product). The reason why I ask this question is that if you have multiple developers storing external methods in the same folder (which can be accessed globally) how do you avoid methods with the same name? A related question I have is about how Zope looks for external methods. It seems that Zope looks along a certain path, in a way that is different from normal acquisition traversal. i.e. you cannot simply locate the external method in a parent folder and expect Zope to find it. If someone could explain how Zope searches for the external methods, I would appreciate this greatly. Hello Paul, sorry for having not argumented my reply. The major problem I had with big upload/download is memory consumption: the last time I try it (zope 2.5.1 or 2.6) downloading a 800Mb file (stored on a LocalFS directory) was taking lots of memory. I think the zserver has to keep the complete request/response object in memory before using/sending it. I asked to this list, and got the: "put static/big stuff in apache" reply. This is point 1 of the 2 things I don't like with Zserver/zope. The point 2 is the 'hanging' capability. I think there is no plan to solve these minor annoyances, they are present (afaik) since Zope 0.9. <dtml-in>, batches and <dtml-unless previous-sequence-start-number>

Hello, I am attempting to build a: <<< 1 2 (3) 4 5 6 >>> style batch record control using DTML. I have gotten everything working except for the links to the first and last batches in the previous-batches and next-batches mapping sequences. <<< and >>> respectively. I am able to sucessfully test for previous-sequence-start-number in the affirmative (<dtml-if p.s.s.n>). However, a test in the negative seems to be broken (<dtml-unless p.s.s.n>). Such as in the snippet below. In other words, a hyperlink is inserted if I use <dtml-if> but not if I use <dtml-unless>. Hi, I am starting to use lists within my forms. I can create them but I am having a hard time trying to find the syntax to get a single item from the list to store in a database. I have been able to create a list doing the following: <dtml-in expr="_.range(3)"> <input type="text" name="pbtemp[sequence-index]" size="6"> </dtml-in> If I display <dtml-var pbtemp[sequence-index], I will see ['11', '22', '33']. I need to store each variable in the three seperate rows in a table. Row1 pbtemp[1] Row2 pbtemp[2] Row3 pbtemp[3] I believe I need to use another <dtml-in expr="_.range(3)"> statement but I am coming up short in the correct syntax.
